Elizabeth Tracey Mae Wettlaufer, 49, allegedly used drugs to end the lives of the eight residents. The eight victims have been identified.

Psychopath or sociopath, is what I'd be asking. If they were mercy killings relatives would have known or would have been involved, if she truly cared about those patients, that is.

The police might be wrong about one or two cases, but they have charged her with 8 murders. Hard believe they are wrong about all of them. Maybe she's an "Angel of Mercy" with a "God" complex. The new assisted suicide law wasn't around when these people died. The article says they do not plan to exhume bodies so they must be pretty about the causes of death.

Only 8 in 7 years sounds more like mercy killings than a serial killer. A serial killer in 7 years would have probably killed 8 a year.

Depending on the condition of the deceased patients she's accused of killing and the knowledge of the family will probably play a role in the case I would think.

I'm okay with someone choosing to end their own life. And I'm okay if they asked this nurse for help with it. I just hope she wasn't making the decisions for the patients.

Yes, I agree with you. Maybe because she killed before the law was changed and didn't follow the proscribed procedure they were obligated to charge her in any event.

Some look at the suffering they are going through and act on their own behalf because they feel it's the right thing to do. Some just walk away and let them suffer. I am not sure what was going through her head because none were family members. I am not sure what I would do if a family member asks me to pull the plug.
