I've read the first 13 of the book series and have the rest waiting on my kindle, so I was really looking forward to the movie. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were unfamiliar with the story.

Katherine Heigl is pretty good. Debbie Reynolds is awesome as the grandmother, it's too bad she didn't have more screentime. Same with Sherri Shepherd. I wasn't impressed with Jason O'Mara or Daniel Sunjata, but probably would have liked them better if I hadn't read the books.

I guess I'd call it mildly entertaining. I think if a movie needs voice-overs from the main character (outside of perhaps the initial story setup) to tell you what's going on, either the acting or the writing (or both) is lacking.

Overall, meh. Could have waited for the dvd.

I haven't read the books & I went in simply hoping it wasn't like the Aniston one with the bail-bondsman and thankfully it wasn't. I liked it...was actually humorous and had a decent plot and characters. Heigl is such a hottie and she got to step outside her "good Mormon girl" thing. Plus it's not easy to sound sexy in a Jersey accent lol

My sister liked it better than I did, she hasn't read the books. I was just distracted by thoughts like, "he just doesn't seem dangerous enough to be Ranger." Also I hate it when little details in a plot don't add up...if you're going to make such a big deal of her gun being a 5-shooter, please don't show her popping off nine rounds at the range.

Katherine Heigl has a really nice rack, though.
