Mods, if this isn't okay to post here please delete it.

I wrote a how-to guide for modern-day cheating. I'm seeing a lot of the same mistakes come up over and over here, so here is my best advice: .

I say :YMAPPLAUSE:

If you ever get caught just look at her like this.

Perfectly worded.

The judgment here is in getting caught (a “D-Day”, if you will)

I'm that person. Advocating the use of messaging apps puts the sex worker at risk. Putting the protection of the identity of a client over the safety of a sex worker is nothing short of bullshit. You can hide a burner phone in your trunk, spare tire, wherever. Or it could just be a work phone. Or get a second number on your smart phone. If your client isn't interested in the safety of both parties, I'd recommend you consider new clients.

Yes, but this is advice for married guys who cheat with escorts.
Advice for sexworkers would be a different thread. :NoNoNo:

After seeing an escort married guys should stop and fill at a gas station, splashing a bit on his hands.
This will keep her scent away from his wife's bloodhounds.

:wink2:

Hi techie friend! We are beyond being on the same page about that. If a phone number is the only thing keeping you safe, I'd suggest you're doing it wrong. I was writing about guys who see escorts or who have affairs - a second phone is suspicious.

I know not a lot of escorts accept text messages from texting apps, but a quick email explaining why clears it up and lets her "vet" you other ways.

I might be in the minority about this because of who I am, who my friends are and how lucky I've been, but I think escorts can be trusted with personal information. We're not out to put anyone at risk and our security tends to be significantly higher than most; plus, our interests are aligned.

For your own edification, I'm not a "techie" but a security & cyber crime guy. Security is indeed multi-layered and multi faceted. It's a series of best practice enabled to keep a computer or a person safe. You are correct. If the only thing keeping you safe is you're not taking text app calls then you need to re-evaluate your screening process. Regardless, advocating the use of difficult to trace phone systems is a direct threat to the security of a sex worker. It's akin to leaving your back door unlocked because you've got a tall fence that's hard to jump over. Using a "text app" does little to hide your affair from your spouse.

As for your claim "escorts can be trusted with personal information" and/or they are secure. I've heard the same comment from executives over the year about their companies & their personal technology. 100% of the time I break in to some degree and steal their data. Let me ask you something. Do you keep personal numbers on your smart phone? Have you ever used public WIFI? If you have then you've put your client's data at risk.

I don't and I haven't. But I'm also paranoid, and I'm privileged in the sense that people trust me to have their information and text me. I'm not about to mess with that.

I'm not perfect; I'm just adding options for the average person. I'd love to hear more about what you can offer to make me even more secure online <3 Sharing information makes everyone better, that's what I was trying to do writing that article.

I'm sorry if "techie" was offensive, I was quoting a message above. We have a lot to learn from each other! We should be friends :)

Handled with class and poise...that's how it's done! :good:

Let me give you some insight into my mindset Rebecca. I am a former black hat hacker. I have broken the law. I've always worn a mask that was tinged with "social justice" and my targets were always what we saw as bad people. I worked with 3 other guys. There was a time when I was so paranoid my Mom had no idea where I lived. I had no social media. I was "a ghost" for the most part. So I think like a black hat hacker (essentially I have a criminal mind). I also spent nearly 10 years in a relationship with a sex worker so I know this industry too well.

How would I attack you? There are many ways but if I parked out front of your house and you were using wireless I'd own you in less than an hour. What would I do? Well first I'd steal all your information from your phone, laptop, etc. Then I'd take control of your email accounts and let you go about business. I'd watch and collect everything you did and said. Armed with that information I'd bounce out of Africa or Russia and research your clients. I'd focus on high volume pooners who were married. One day an email would appear that came through Tor via about 5 chain linked VPN's on a virtual machine with me using a Cantenna parked 5 blocks up the street. I'd extort your clients. I've got evidence you used a sex worker so pay up or I release this information. I could destroy lives. Once I sent out the emails I'd pull the laptop drive, drop it in the river & drive the laptop to recycling and leave. And I'd have bought it cash.

Chaos would then ensue. Exactly the same thing happened with Ashley Madison. The connected emails were dumped and can be searched by anyone. I had an account on AM under an alias which had a full realm of social media. It was a "lure". I received multiple attempted extortions. They all contained my fake Facebook & Linkedin stuff using it as currency to extort me. Except NONE of it was real. Oppsie. Now, imagine that's your client only he's got no Infosec.

I live security. It's not a job, but a life for me. None of us are safe or fully secure. A sex worker should never take a call from a client on a text app. If the client has to hide that much it's just better not to see them.

Oh and not to say I'd do that because I wouldn't. But that's the tactics used by people who extort money.

I would add getting tested regularly, and not parking your car outside of strip clubs and MP's to the list.

Also if you want to keep apps like twitter or text plus on your phone, hide them in a folder.

@Rebecca

I harp on security a lot and on the safety of sex workers because it's personal. A decade or so ago I started dating a sex worker who later would move in with me and become my partner. She suffered sexual abuse and violence. I saw how it affected her; violent nightmares, horrific anxiety, outbursts of rage. I was going to dump her to be honest. I figured she was a gold digger & I just didn't want the emotional bullshit. At that stage in my life I'd already sworn off women. I stayed. Over the years I watched a person become healthy again. She used to sleep curled up in the fetal position with lights on. I remember the first time I saw her in bed, stretched out like most people sleep. I realized she had found peace. She learned to cope and move forward. She became a mostly normalized citizen, career, etc.

Witnessing that changed me. I became an entirely different person. I learned real empathy and my direction in life was forever altered. I saw how sexual violence destroys a person. It's something I'd never wish on anyone. All it takes is one bad incident, one slip up in screening someone and your entire world could forever be altered. A decision made in the heat of the moment or our of desperation.

If a secret cell phone is a bigger concern than the safety of a woman then I think the SP needs to find a new client. The first priority in this industry should always be safety for both parties.

Just my 2 cents.

Sorry to switch subjects, but this is very important. As most are aware we all up our risks of contracting a std with multiple partners. It amazes me how many men have posted on boards, in reviews, threads, etc, about seeing women and mentioning they wouldn't do oral because of an odor, yet still had intercourse. Gentlemen, if a woman is odorous in the genital area, best to not do anything. Foul odors usually are representative of an infection, and that infection could be vaginosis, Trichomoniasis, or yeast, all curable but also contagious. Educate yourselves on std's and what to look for and smell. We all need to be diligent in keeping one another safe. Both for privacy and for health reasons:)
