Paralysis, or low sex drive?

Would you rather be paralyzed, or would you rather have your sex drive reduced? Which one sounds more scary to you?

This is not spam. I am asking this because many scientific studies have shown that men have a higher risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's Disease or ALS because of our lack of estrogen. Estrogen is neuroprotective, and if you were to look online, genistein, a plant derived estrogen, helps reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease and ALS in men because of its estrogenic action.

Right now you're having tons of sex because it's enjoyable. You love sex because of your high testosterone and low estrogen level. But this comes at a cost, because indulging in this pleasureful activity will result in you more likely to become paralyzed later on in life. Worth it? I don't think so. Parkinson's disease and ALS are both very scary diseases, and I'd rather become a eunuch right now than to be lying in my wife's bed ten years later being fed ground up food through a nose hose by my wife because I am unable to swallow or move, hoping that she doesn't find out that I've been to the girls that you guys are seeing. And when she finds out, then, well, she might punch me, kick me, and strangle me, while I lie there helplessly, resenting the fact that she's not suffering from this dreaded disease because of her stronger body and brain, and regretting that I didn't take genistein when I had the chance to.

If you're wondering, here are the sources:

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), whether sporadic or familial (FALS), is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disorder involving the motor neurons of the cortex, brain stem, and spinal cord. In some studies, the male/female ratio of ALS patients was as high as 2 to 1. In FALS mice, disease onset and mortality were earlier among males than among females. This sexual dimorphism was due to estrogen, as treatment with genistein, a phytoestrogen, eliminated the observed sexual dimorphism in FALS mice. Genistein treatment also protected against oxygen singlet-induced cerebral damage in vivo. However, sexual dimorphism was not observed in this model of stroke; and genistein was equally effective in males and females. These data suggest that genistein has both estrogen-dependent and estrogen-independent neuroprotective activities and it should be investigated as a prophylactic agent against pathologic conditions such as ALS and stroke.

Emerging evidence suggests beneficial effects of estrogen and estrogen-like chemicals on neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson's disease (PD). Genistein, an isoflavone naturally found in soy products, displays estrogenic properties. The present study aims to investigate the neuroprotective effects of genistein on dopaminergic neurons in ovariectomized (OVX), 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD model mice. MPTP significantly decreased the levels of dopamine (DA) and its metabolites dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and homovanillic acid (HVA) in the striatum, which could be restored by genistein or estrogen pretreatment. MPTP-challenge with genistein or estrogen pretreatment demonstrated reduced neurotoxicity, with tyrosine hydroxylase-immunoreactive (TH-IR) neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) affected to a significantly lesser extent as compared to the MPTP treated control. The reverse transcription-PCR results also confirmed that the MPTP-induced downregulation of TH, dopamine transporter (DAT) and Bcl-2 mRNA expression in the midbrain could be restored by genistein or estrogen pretreatment. These findings provide the first evidence that genistein has neuroprotective effects on dopaminergic neurons in the MPTP-induced PD mice and this effect may be attributed to enhancing Bcl-2 gene expression.

Ahhh further evidence that being a man is bad for your health. I'm gonna fuck my way to paralysis. Then with my dying breath I am gonna kill all the morons who help push the effeminate agenda.

No sex is better than being paralyzed. One can still love, nff said.

I kinda see your point. Isn't is silly that we value our dicks more than our body? To an extent I agree, but... sex just feels way too good.

Too late to reduce my sex drive so must as well keep going at it.
