The parents of a 17-year-old D.C. student are suing their son's substitute teacher, claiming she lured him to her high school classroom and performed multiple sex acts on him.
The family filed the $11 million lawsuit just weeks after Symone Greene, a 22-year-old substitute teacher, was arrested in D.C., where the age of consent is 16. Greene was still arrested for sexual assault of a minor, however, because D.C. recognizes a special relationship between teachers and students.
The civil suit and the company that hired Greene, alleging battery, negligence in hiring practices and infliction of mental distress.
Police say it all happened on Greene's first day of work on a Friday. She allegedly met the student, a football player who was working as an office assistant, and took his phone number that morning. The pair began texting and around 3:30 p.m., he met her in her classroom where—according to reports—she performed as many sex acts as the number on his football jersey.
She reportedly asked the teen—who surreptitiously filmed their encounter—to keep it a secret. According to reports, he later sent the video around to his teammates and Greene was arrested that Monday.
In addition to the civil lawsuit, Greene's facing first-degree sexual assault charges.
