Hello all,

I did a photoshoot a few days ago and am having trouble deciding what photos to upload to my website so I thought I'd ask for a little feedback. I've noticed over the years I have a certain bias towards Black & White images, at least half of the photos I have selected are in B&W. I generally like the mood it sets and I think it's reflective of who I am. The problem is I am not sure if using so much B&W is inaccurate; my hair is not a deep chestnut but rather a light brown with blonde highlights, I am very fair skinned, etc. and in greyscale I can have a very different look (sometimes people think I'm Asian! :dontknow: - I guess they don't actually read my description). So I'm wondering if on my new photos I should use the B&W's or the Colour images for my website. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Kyra

First off you look amazing either way but I'm partial to the colour ones.

I'm with Madman. You look great in the pics and I also prefer the color ones. I prefer seeing the skin tone. i.e caramel, milky white etc.....

B&W sets a totally different vibe. For artistic value, B&W is much more interesting with its tonal ranges. To me, the pictures convey elegance and class. I suspect the B&W is also more reflective of your personality (I have never met you, but I have enjoyed your thoughtful posts).

I'm not sure that the "colour" comparatives are fair. For one, they are themselves fairly monochromatic. It's all beiges and whites. But, the colour shots more fairly represent your "product", I suppose.

Perhaps you can have your cake and eat it, too. Have different galleries on your website, B&W and colour in separate folios?

I am in agreement with all that RAWD said. Like he said, on your website, maybe you can set up the pics to display in one mode but toggle to the other when the mouse hovers over it.

How did you know that I only visit escort sites for the articles?

I like Black and White....classic....stylish....and gives off a
vibe of mystery....to wonder what colours and sensitivity is
in the picture....
Just my 2 cents......

I prefer the colour ones, I don't particularly find anything appealing about B&W. I know it appeals to some people's artistic side, so maybe for that reason do a reasonable number of B&W's, let's say no more than 1/3 of the pictures.

Someone had to say it :drunk:

That's what your wife told me.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it's very much appreciated.
I am not planning on overhauling my gallery over the next few days and though I might rework it in the (near) future I still don't want duplicates of any particular photo on my site. One thing I am particular about is consistancy in design, if I were going to have some photos preview in B&W and open in colour (or reverse) then I'd want it on all of them and some photos simply are not available in both. I can easily advertise alternating between one style or another as most ads are independent of previous ads but I'd prefer to keep photos that clearly belong in one set consistant on the website; I think it's better design and easier on the eye (better flow) to not change the style within a specific set.

Rawd - I agree in that I think the B&W is more consistant with my personality, I just wonder if anyone takes that into account when they view a website or not. Perhaps it's not a conscious thought but one of those intangibles that you connect with when browsing the ladies sites... I really just don't know. I guess that is why I'm looking for feedback.

These may not be the most colourful of images but these are the only ones I have ever debated whether to post in B&W or in colour, looking at both sets I do not have a clear preference - much like Wilsonjso I like some in B&W and others in colour.
As for my "product", personality is a huge part of that (often more so than just body & image) so I'm hesitant to say that one is more reflective of me than another.

I'm torn! (and judging from the poll so far so is the board)

Black and white is definitely more "artsy" if the photographer gets it right and you have the background etc. You have to decide whether that works best for you from a marketing standpoint. Perhaps you wish to attract clients tha identify with film noire, perhaps not. I kind of like it every once and awhile but would regret all escorts adopting this style.

When looking for an escort I much prefer colour photos with very little photo-shopping. If I was walking through an art gallery then I may look more favourable at the B&W ones.

That's a really good point, Chunky, and something to consider when answering. Does arty sell in this industry? Yes and no, but I think when it comes down to it in this industry, color would probably sell best.

Having said that, I like the color in the first one and B&W in the second but I also understand the need to be consistant in your style... So, I would do both in color.

Good luck in your decision making process. Over and out!
