How do you handle serious pain when nothing is helping?

Self medicate but that only increases the problems.

Chronic pain is hard to overcome, not impossible but different.

My meds do not work when it hit this bad. The pain has now moved into my jaw line, neck and one side of my head. The doctor told me this will happen. I am sad but I have the gym at 5 am so maybe I can focus on that. I am just in tears, because if it hitting the nerves of my head, it too much. So I am watching BBC News on North Korea to make me feel better,

Did not go to the gym, could not trust my driving. I was thinking along the lines of a bat across the head or chain saw.:lol:
Trying to see the lighter side of this.
Shit maybe I should get Brash do some bondage on me now.:666:
Going to cry some more.

There are meditation techniques you can try that will help. You live in TO, right? If so, I could PM you a few martial arts schools where you can learn to deal with the pain.

To be honest a constant pain is the easiest handle you simply understand what aggravates it and don't do that or you know the level of pain you will have.

The worst is a quick onset pain a stabbing pain or burning. For me it is the occasional pinched nerve or believe or or not a finger stick. These pains are sharp and last from seconds to hours. You need to work through them by forcing blood flow or circulation to the affected area.

Migraines suck as a young teen I suffered from them to the point of being hospitalized.

One day I realized that before a migraine hit I begin to show signs of a slight asthma attack. I asked my allergist if this could cause a migraine. He said that yes you would be causing the brain to react to a lowered level of oxygen. We agreed to put me on a daily antihistamine. Have been on them since and no real problems with migraines anymore.

Oddly my daughter suffered the same symptoms around 7 or 8. Took her to an allergist and he put her on an antihistamine telling us that allergies are likely the cause. So she and I get up every day and take a pill or two. She takes a more modern one than I do but they both do the trick

If you have exhausted the traditional routes of pain management, have you considered any of the alternate treatments. Such as acupuncture? My sister was had success with acupuncture in treating pain for a lower back injury.

+1, I've used acupuncture for chronic pain, but not at the level you're suffering and it helps somewhat. Others I know say it's a miracle aid/cure for them. No pun intended, but it can't hurt you to try as not much else is working well enough.

The other end of the scale is also worth talking about. I know one person who suffers pain differently. When any 'discomfort' is felt, they have to take it seriously as he does experience pain at the same intensity. The are people who don't feel ''any' pain and to choose activity with little or no chance of injury. Even at work or at home they have to watch out against injury.

My thoughts go go out to you. all of a sudden my day isn't so bad. Good lucky with some relief.

Thanks for the ideas but I have done most or doing so. From meditation to no foods with additives plus veggie only, etc. Fibromylgia that what I have and I have 17 points. The doctor told me that the jaw line will happen. I have tried all the meds. But thanks. Now back to crying, not really, I am going to see if I can walk the dog.

I now know of what you talk as I have a family member who has suffered from FM. It is a real test in personal strength to battle it.

Actually what use to work was a Sweet and Hauntingly Beautiful Woman, now I have to find another friend.:bad:
