Invictus

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Loom but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

-William Earnest Henley

Oh what the hell!

Oh what the hell!

Roses are red, Vicki is Blue
Be careful around her as she may go psycho on you!

Mercy

Mercy

The quality of mercy is not strained,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest,-
In blesseth him that gives and him that takes:
Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown:
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway,-
It is enthroned in hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's,
When mercy seasons justice.

-From the Merchant of Venice
- William Shakespeare

Body of woman, white hills, white thighs,
you look yourself like a world in your attitude of surrender.
My rough peasant's body digs in you
and makes the son leap from the depths of the earth.

I was alone like a tunnel. The birds fled from me
and the night enveloped me with its crushing invasion.
To survive myself I forged to you like a weapon,
like an arrow in my bow, like a stone in my sling.

But the hour of vengeance falls, and I love you.
Body of skin, of moss, of eager and firm milk.
Ah those goblets of the chest! Ah those eyes of absence!
Ah the roses of the pubis! Ah your voice slow and sad!

Body of my woman, I will persist in your grace.
My thirst, my unbounded desire, my uncertain road!
Dark river-beds where the eternal thirst follows,
and tiredness follows, and the infinite ache.

~ Pablo Neruda

Bird On The Wire

Bird On The Wire

Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tired in my way to be free
Like a woman on a hook
Like a knight from some old-fashion book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee

If I been unkind
II hope that you can just let it go by
If I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you

Like a baby stillborn
Like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reach out for me
But I swear by this song
And by all I have done wrong
I will make it up to thee

I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch
He said to me " You must not ask for more"
And pretty woman leaning in her darkened door
She cried to me " Hey, why not ask for more "

Like a bird on a wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.

- Leonard Cohen

Golden Slumbers

Golden Slumbers

Golden slumbers kisses your eyes,
Smiles awakes you when you rise
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry.
And I will sing a lullaby.

Care is heavy, therefore sleep you;
You are care, and care must keep you;
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry,
A I will sing a lullaby;
Rock them, rock them, lullaby

-Thomas Dekker

I am the disabled child.
I am your teacher.
If you allow me, I will teach you what is really important in life.
I will give you and teach you unconditional love.
I gift you with my innocent trust, my dependency upon you.
I teach you about how precious this life is and about not taking things for granted.
I teach you about forgetting your own needs and desires and dreams.
I teach you giving.
Most of all I teach you hope and faith.
I am the disabled child.

disABILITY PRAYER by Tina Yows

Let us pray for the vision impaired......
who can see differences in people,
not who that person is inside...
Let us pray for the speech impaired...
who can only speak with harsh and hurtful words,
instead of kindness and understanding
Let us pray for the emotionally disturbed.....
instead of at least trying to love everyone,
"different" or not.....
Let us pray for the hearing impaired....
who can only hear the unspoken word,
instead of listening for what someone is trying to tell them,
Please God....
help these truly DISabled people
so that this world can become a better place
for ALL of your children
Amen!

Celery, raw
Develops the jaw,
But celery, stewed,
Is more quietly chewed.

To my 3 family members I lost 3 years ago in December and my Dad I lost in December too....I could go on......But Life goes on....Christmas is suppose to be a time for joy.....I have learn to hide and to ignore...From death and sorrow....My Family broken....There is no words to be spoken.....I hold my breath and pray nothing else will go wrong..

When I'm Gone
by Mrs. Lyman Hancock

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile

Forget unkind words I have spoken
Remember some good I have done
Forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun

Forget that I've stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day

Then forget to grieve for my going
I would not have you sad for a day
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay

And come in the shade of evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best

They live on in your memories, Blissful - no need to hide them.
Thank you for sharing with us.
