Yeah verily, I am a devout follower of Brother Bill Mahar



Reading the Koran has been a bucket item for nigh unto two generations, and verily I am slothful and reading the Bible (aka Torah plus New Testament) used up mine stomach for nonsense for all these years. But 'know thine enemy' are verily words of wisdom, so I have bored and pained mine eyes from the first Sura to the last.

Like all the other writings of man- those deemed to be holy and mystical, it is a stink in the senses* of man and womankind and affront to the wonders* of the universe.

Anything that seeks to subjugate, demean, enslave and 'scourge'^ 50% of the of the human race,
from the nasty misogyny of Hinduism (Vedas), to the Torah, Bible and others is a monstrosity. Much other evil and nonsense abounds, but for this reason alone, they stand condemned.

Any thoughts about the recent archeological evidence that shows the Jews were not slaves in Egypt at the time of Ramses II.

This means no Exodus, no Moses, no Ten Commandments.

No Jesus as God in human form since the bible clearly speaks of his visions of Moses etc and he didn't know any better.

No Koran since it is an Abrahamic religion.

The archeology is showing the holy books to be closer to stories like Harry Potter rather than a code for living ones life.

On the other hand, finding, developing and living by a code that sits well in your own heart is a worthy pursuit.

My points about the vicious nonsense in traditional 'sacred' texts are tangental to the main issues of theism/monotheism or atheism.

Points 1-4 in this article prove nothing and are laden with pointless comments, considering how little WE can observe of the universe.

Point #5, is simply the traditional 'personal revelation'. The case is often made that it is the ONLY reason for anyone to believe in God (and if you dont have that- you really are just faking it).
