Doug Ford is trying to soften the blow. Give me a break, I can't wait for these to Neanderthals to be taken down.

The Toronto Sun now trying to do damage control. The right wing claims The Star is Liberal trash, my God The Sun, along with am640 and CFRB are Conservative spin doctors!!

Councillor Doug Ford says a Christmas Day domestic dispute at his brother's home was “blown out of proportion … a minor disagreement and some misunderstandings,” the Toronto Sun reports.
Reached in Florida, the elder Ford brother said Rob Ford loves his wife and they are working as a family through private issues.
The mayor also spoke to the Toronto Sun, saying he had not heard about a story published in the Star detailing two domestic disputes in as many months at the mayor's Etobicoke home.
“We have had a great couple of days down here,” he told the Sun, speaking of his two children, Douglas and Stephanie. “There’s no problem at all.”
Ford went on to say: “Look, I think you know a lot of people who have problems behind closed doors.”
The Toronto police Youth and Family Violence Unit is probing two recent domestic disputes involving the mayor and his wife, Renata.
The first occurred on Oct. 25, less than 15 hours after the infamous This Hour Has 22 Minutes911 call. At 10:17 p.m., 22 Division officers were back at the residence over a “verbal altercation.”
The second domestic call came early Christmas morning.
Sources told the Star Renata’s mother made the call after Ford — who she said had been drinking — took the children to the airport to go to Florida against Renata’s wishes.
No charges have been laid and there is no evidence the Star knows of to suggest physical violence occurred.
The Toronto Sun quotes a source as saying Renata had a ticket to go, but when it was time to leave she felt “uncomfortable with travelling.”
Doug Ford told the Sun that Rob Ford had not been drinking.
The recent investigations involving the mayor have raised questions about where the line should be drawn between Ford’s public and private lives. Ford has a seat — or a designate — on the civilian-run police oversight board to which Chief Bill Blair reports. Four of the seven seats on the board are appointed by city council. As mayor, Ford also plays a key role in budget and contract negotiations with the service.
Councillor Adam Vaughan said, however sensitive, Ford should speak about these issues with the public for the sake of the police and for his own benefit to avoid any suggestion of a conflict.
Vaughan also added the mayor needs privacy and time to deal with personal issues.
According to numerous police and emergency service sources, 911 calls to the mayor’s home are a reality for 22 Division officers. The Star has heard about a handful of incidents, but attempts to confirm the reports through freedom of information requests have been unsuccessful.
Previously, the only other public incident occurred in March 2008, when Ford was a councillor. At the time, Ford was charged with assault and uttering a death threat. Those charges were dropped two months later because of inconsistencies in Renata’s story.

A drunk Rob Ford drives to the airport with his two children against his wife's wishes...

And people thought Mel Lastman was bad for shaking a Hell's Angel's hand.

It would seem the Police are afraid to rattle his cage while he's in charge of their pay and possible budget cuts.

What really makes me sick about Ford and we don't hear if from the right wing media. He promised to find inefficiencies during the campaign, cut the gravy if you will.

His promised, which is recorded;

I WILL NOT CUT SERVICES!!!

Now with the help of his evil twin brother they are attempting to cut services. Perhaps cutting back on his liquor budget is what is really needed!!

The thing that makes me laugh (sadly), is that we don't have a mayor, we have two of them.

Actually 3 of them, we can count Rob as 2, although I read he's going on a diet in 2012 so maybe by June we maybe down to 2.

I live in Hazel's neck of the woods. You Toronto boys don't have any idea how good you have it tax property wise. We pay much higher taxes per square foot in the burbs than you so stop whining. Get rid of fat Ford , his brother and his ass kissing side kick Mammoliti next time around and live happily ever after.

Protesters out today protesting Ford's cuts. I don't mind him trying to save money and not raise taxes but I admit he did promise no cuts.

As for his private life I will reserve my comment until we learn more. The problem might be his spouse and not him, we don't really know.
