:biggrin2:
The salmon never had a chance.
On the other end of the line, Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion gripped the fishing rod.
And holding her was Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, stepping in to save the day after the tiny 92-year-old was nearly yanked into the waters by the big fish.
“Mayor, hold the mayor,” someone hollers, in a video of the dramatic catch in the Great Ontario Salmon Derby.
“I got her, I got her don’t worry,” says a confident Ford, his arms around the Mississauga mayor in a bear hug.
“Rob, is this what it mean to support the mayor?” jokes an onlooker.
Between the two mayors, the 16-pound fish was reeled in 20 km off the coast of Port Credit, according to media reports.
“Holy. It’s a big one,” says Ford, posing with McCallion for triumphant pictures.
“Thank you, Rob,” she replies.
