Belongs in the SPORTS SECTION!:slap: I know this is all in good fun but I've been watching and following a lot of the CFL moves over the past few years with new stadiums, its logistics and so on, and I love the CFL because it's just different but there are a lot of things that are needed for improvement and it's a great game ask those from Guelph that enjoyed a year of it.
Hamilton is a love it or hate it place, for most that have grown up here, regardless where they end up, they have a fondness for Hamilton. The knocks against the "Hammer" are due to lack of vision and complacency in attitude and politics. A city built on steel and manufacturing didn't keep up and that was politics. Now, it's all about education, healthcare, service and a different manufacturing sector. You probably never knew that Hamilton is the city of waterfalls with over a 1000.
I rag on the Toronto Sports teams all the time, but I don't rag on their fans. In fact, I admire their fans loyalty just not their teams ownerships but that's improving too.
Let me talk briefly about the CFL:
1. There are 8 teams of which there are 3 owners!
Bob Young (Hamilton), Dave Braley (Toronto & BC), Bob Wetenhall (Montreal)
2. Calgary is owned by the Calgary Flames.
3. Saskatchewan, Winnipeg and Edmonton are community owned.
4. Ottawa (new franchise) is owned by Jeff Hunt, who knows what will happen there.
Now of those 3 owners (2-Boy Young and Dave Braley) 2 are from Hamilton!!!
Bob Young
David Braley
In fact Braley's business, Orlick industries is located in Hamilton and he owns the last two Grey Cup champions. Bob Young owns a Hamilton franchise that will be very successful as long as they keep Kent Austin (not necessarily as head coach but as GM). When Hamilton wins this weekend, it will be because of his coaching (although I don't always agree with the decisions, he knows his team).
I'm surprised Ron Foxcroft (Fluke Transport and Fox40 Whistle) doesn't own a CFL team.
