Selling a fixer-upper used car in Ontario?

So wondering what kind of laws are there about selling used cars in Ontario. I got one vehicle that's in bad shape, and the cost to fix it is not worth it for us. Thinking of selling the vehicle "as-is" and let someone else take the cost of repair. My question is this allowable in Ontario? Or do you need to take it for various safety checks and stuff first?

Also having compared to other similar cars with better maintenance, they are selling for $1500, but what would be an ideal price for an as-is vehicle? $1000, maybe?

So I still have to pay the $20 for the used car package? :Crying/:

One lap dance won't set you back that much.

Or will it :unknw:

No way at all my friend, unless you don't mind a guilty conscience. Those selling lemons on Kijiji and privately have suckers calling them everyday. Eventually there will be a sale but if you get the wrong person pissed off then keep on looking behind your shoulder. Not worth it, I say just sell it to the scrapyard for a couple of hundred.

Yeah, but that means I won't have that money available for that lap dance! :Crying/:

You can also have it towed for free by many scappers who are partnering with charities who will pay you a lump sum of anywhere between $300 - $700 based on the raw weight of the vehicle, plus they will provide you a receipt for the charitable donation for tax purposes. A few years back, I had two old unplated pickup trucks I used exclusively on my hobby farm as field haulers yanked when the cost to maintain them just wasn't worth it anymore and picked up $1400.00 CDN cash + a $1000.00 tax receipt. Look around to see if this is an option for you in your neck of the woods and maybe save yourself some hassle...
