Intro - The relationship between depression and sex is complex. Depression can steal your sex drive, make off with your motivation, and deplete any desire you once had to feel attractive. On the flip side, many aspects of sex can help boost your mood and act as a buffer against depression’s effects.

My moods certainly drive my need for companionship. I find when I'm having a tough day, I feel the need to find some company.

Why are you posting it here if it's so complex :NoNoNo:

Good link.

Did you find good company that day?.

I find if my pecker is hard I'm usually smiling but if my pecker is limp I'm usually frowning....

Dr. Fugged do you see any correlation between my limp and hard boner?

The problem seems to lie between the ground you're standing on and the sky.

Necro bump

To put another spin on the sex and depression talk. And yes, I see Jasper rolling his eyes.

Where many here find a little romp to be very therapeutic and a good pick me up, I'm generally of the opposite slant.

While most look forward to their visits, to me it's something I desire...But also dread. As I have mentioned before I experience anxiety in social situations, which includes :blush2: Now I know someone will say something to effectively dismiss this. I know they won't open the door and go "fuck off fatty" but I still experience that fear. The last time out, I could feel every beat of my heart on the drive from the Kawarthas to Markham. The general exception to this is when I'm going to see someone I've met before, or that I have communicated with.

Then comes the matter of :missionary: I'll be blunt, I don't preform well. Again, yes I know "she's there to get you off." But when you pop 10 seconds after getting the hat on, and it's an anorgasmic one at that, one can't help be feel rather disappointed...Especially when one is generally all you have in the tank.

So when you add it all together; 1-2 hour drive, $250, the anxiety experienced during the drive (which is an activity I generally quite enjoy), the quickness of my performance, and not even :yahoo2: to show for it, is it a wonder that I find it rather disappointing. This in turn leads me into a cycle of circular thinking, which goes something like "what a waste of time/money", "what a disappointment," "I could have done something else with that money/time," "talk about being stupid." This naturally brings me down.

But on top of that is an increased sense of loneliness. Even if everything worked out, the faux connection only serves to make me more aware of how alone I am.

So when you see me comment on how overrated I find sex, you can see why I have that attitude. It's generally not a positive experience for me.

Dave, ever tried masturbating a couple of times before seeing a SP?. If not try it, guaranteed results to last.

None here can help you for your loneliness, only you can.

@Blank_Dave - I know exactly how you feel.

The anticipation with seeing someone is overwhelming. I feel my heart pounding. The awkwardness. The anticipation and adrenaline flowing because of the unknown. Once the door is open, my awkwardness is sensed and hopefully, she is a seasoned SP who can make the client feel comfortable. Thankfully, all of my regulars and I have that connection; this is why I keep a roster.

Afterwards, it's extremely lonely. I've been doing predominantly outcalls as of late and it's a more comfortable setting for me but the house is empty and quiet afterwards. If it's an incall, the drive back home is usually very quiet with only the radio playing.

I thrive on the anticipation. The further ahead I can book the better. Not knowing when or where the next appt. is going to be kills me.

The nerves come into play when I send the initial text to book and when the phone vibrates with the room number text. Last couple of times I noticed my hands a little shakey the first few minutes. What's that about?

Usually on the way back after an appointmentI crank the tunes and smile all the way back. By the next morning I am craving my next visit like a crack addict.

Being alone does not bother me. I seek alone time and will spend days on my boat without human contact. Still, I love entertaining and getting together with friends. I am a wild party. At the same time I can be lonliest when I am with other people. Weird right?

I went through a long period of time with no sex. That was depressing. Seeing sp's has had a dramatic positive impact on my physical and mental health. Finding myself out of breath during my first few sp visits motivated me to start exercising again and improving my diet. I am still a big guy but about 40 lbs lighter and much fitter and more confident. Still a ways to go.

So for me no sex =:(

I posted in Annaliese's thread a while ago about the chemical high we experience after a good sexual encounter. Sometimes that high lasts for hours or even days.

For some people, the drop back to normal brain chemistry is a slow, gradual process, but for others, it can be like dropping off a cliff and you're left feeling lonely and depressed, wondering what the hell happened to you.

There's other valid reasons for the increased sense of loneliness, but that's one of them.

I've got a triple whammy going. The custody battle. The finances tanking because of a bad investment. The wanting to quit hobbying for a while because of the emotional after effects....
