I'm curious: what do you mean by "goes to the trouble"??? Is that like, getting to know you, buying you drinks/dinner?, wooing you? You're right though about the guy expecting it. I wish more women would realize that if a guy's expecting it, she should drop him like he has herpes (but many don't). It's the guys who aren't expecting it, those are the keepers......

Even if you're a guy who's a little cynical and jaded, and views holding off for a bit as little bit of a game, it's a game that is very much worth playing, IMHO. (I mostly hate games, but a little bit can go a long way. Especially when it comes to proving that you're semi-mature, not creepy or a creep, or so desperate that you'll try hard to shove it in every hole you can.)

I understand that POV-- Like I said, I have a pretty low tolerance for that sort of thing myself, though I'm guilty of both the not calling the next day and the not fucking on a first date. In my case, like I said, I find it helpful, and in deference to your POV, if it even starts looking like a series of hoops I'll be the first to walk away.

I think this might be a case of 'the expected theatre' around dating, vs 'playing games'. IMHO, it's always a good thing to keep the level of BS to a minimum and to be as honest as you can reasonable be.

Goes to the trouble of asking me out, planning anything at all, making himself look uhh presentable...y'know washed and brushed hair, clothes he didn't roll around in bed in, smelling nice lol.... I appreciate a decent thoughtful attempt at attracting me.

Where I'm from, it was considered polite to give the guy at least a BJ while you make him wait for more (assuming he's decent and you were planning on putting out at some point).
