Baz said:Please show me this very recent post as another member did in defending me. I would listen to a sound argument but to this date you and other gun enthusiasts have not made one to change my mind on gun control for a city. Last time I checked, we do not have to protect live stock in the City of Toronto or any other hustling and bustling city in North America. Your rights to shooting a target for the thrill of it I don't think is enough and where I do agree with you is the laws should be strengthened and anyone committing a crime with a firearm should be severely punished. Now that I have agreed with you on one point I'm sure you will be twisting my words to again attack be but that is fine. I will not change in order to appease you or anyone else . You are entitled to give me your opinion as I do on occasion but I have the right to say thank you but we agree to disagree.
In the tattoo thread you claimed that tattoo shops have dirty needles and they risk getting infected. Well tattoo shops have been highly regulated for a number of years now and certain minimum standards of sterilization must be followed. The vast majority go way beyond the minimum standards when it comes to sanitary practices. Thats a highly misinformed person who makes that accusation. It's not your body, it's someone else's and that person made the decision to get a tattoo. They don't care what you think or what your opinion is, so why criticize their choices? Yes theres bad tattoos and stupid tattoos but it's not our place to judge their choices. Many get tattoos to signify an event in their life that they never want to forget.
I hunt for food, I have a license and a permit and hunt within the lawful hunting period. I've shot bird, I've shot deer and I've shot rabbit. I also eat what I kill. I go to a range to keep my skills sharp so that when actually fire the gun, I hit what I'm aiming at. I've shot clays, I've shot stationary targets and I've also shot moving targets. Some of my friends shoot competitively and compete nationally and internationally. I've been handling guns for 30 plus years and in the 30 plus years only once has someone I know done something foolish. Yet at my range, I see cops mishandling the guns, missing the targets and doing dangerous things like pointing the gun at the ceiling and accidentally firing it. These are people who have been given the responsibility of protecting us....... I would trust a fellow gun owner over a cop any day with a gun unless I know the cop practices with his firearm competitively.
As I've said before, we can sit down and go over your fears and misconceptions of firearms in general and educate you because there is nothing more dangerous than a misinformed individual making decisions on a matter that is very serious and highly regulated. Whether is firearms or tattoos, a well educated individual can make a responsible decision. Do not lump licensed and trained professionals in with criminals.
