No we have come further as a civilization than being reduced to being a cat toy. They have automated laser pointers for cats!
If that don't work...you could always conduct your own little thought experiment.

fang: riley hit the nail on the head: cats are territorial and you're taking it out of its comfort zone so it's going to be off for most of the week.....and even though it's known you before, it can see you as an interloper. A week isn't really enough for it to become comfortable in your home.
I would NEVER have someone board my cat. Instead, when i go out of town for a few days, I have someone stop by to make sure he has plenty of water and food and every three days take care of the litter box. If they are across the street it shouldn't be too much of a bother to stop by on your way home from work to look in on it...
In addition, i think it is very irresponsible to have someone who isn't a cat person look after one. I did that when i travelled for business and they basically killed my cat with neglect. All they did was dump food in her bowl and fill the bottle with water without ever cleaning the actual dish so the dish got all slimy and was absolutely gross.....to the point where the cat couldn't drink it and its kidney's shut down due to dehydration......
I don't think you'll neglect it but i think you should look after it in her place, not yours....they are not like dogs....dogs are ok as long as you take them for walks and have a ball for them to chase.....

I own a cat and he's so easy to care for, much less work than a dog.

It's just when she and I are alone that I "feel" the tension starting. The worst thing that happens is that she knocks over some things and at worst blocks my T.V. when I'm watching really bad porn. As I said I LOVE pets and have a very good rapport with them. EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE! I'm baffled to figure out what this Cat has against me. It's not like she's online reading this.

Ok last night went better than expected. Cat was attentive and seemed to care that I was in the same room with her. Today however is starting to shape up as a disaster. Morning went and then the Euro Nations Cup came on at 12:00. I was trying to watch Italy vs Spain and the little twirp of a feline was cheering for Spain.
Little thing was taunting me when Spain tied the score. I hate this cat.
