Presuming everyone has 7 digit phone numbers....

Okay, some math whiz somewhere has a little too much free time...
Here is a math trick.........
Personally I would like to know who came up with this?

1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT YOUR AREA CODE)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number.
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2.

Do you recognize the answer??

there are all kinds of math type "tricks" like this. Not that I have time, but the second you enter the last 4 digits of your phone number, you're completing the "total" to be your complete phone number. The rest is just adding and subtracting various irrelevant numbers.

For example: Take your phone number, add 200, subtract 200 voila, your phone number!!! (I know, simple version but basically the same as the above)

A similar "formula" is the product numbers at Canadian tire. I forget what it is but their numbers are in a format like 54-2233-4. Supposedly you can calculate the entire product number by using the last digit (called the check digit) and the formula.

Plus, the first two denote what dept the product falls into.

I remember 12 is exhaust, 13 brakes, 00 to 03 are tires and associated items, 23 air filters, 22 suspension, etc etc (sorry, don't remember them all lol).

Oh yeah, and 99 are non-stock promotional items. If you see a product on sale and it has a 99 number it isn't a regular stocked item and will most likely only be available during the sale....
