Spain Privatizes The Sun: Multi Millon Dollar Penalties For Collecting Sunlight

If there's any basis of truth in it, I suspect it will be along the lines of this:

BIG SOL is taking the place of BIG OIL in Spain.

In other words, just like the multinational oil companies lobby governments around the world to support their raping of the environment and to promote a culture of consumer bondage, big solar companies are lobbying Spain to ensure control of the power grid. Ergo, private solar panels on your home become verboten.

Or perhaps, only allowed if you're totally off the grid, but not allowed if you're connected to the grid, meaning you can't feed excess electricity to anybody else in the daytime or draw power at night when you might need it.

Just speculation, of course. But if wouldn't surprise me to see conglomerate action like that in the future. And it wouldn't surprise me to learn the solar corporations involved are subsidiaries of big oil.

On the other hand . . . maybe Wino's right.

Good points. And again, maybe Wino is right :biggrin2:
