Just found out the next season should be starting on the 27th and also, sadly, Andy Whitfield (the original spartacus in the first series) died back in September of Non Hodgkin lyphoma........sad to get your big break then get sick.....

Let's hope the new Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) can fill his shoes......

I've seen every episode and yes am looking forward to seeing how they are going to pull this off.

And was also very saddened at the death of Andy.

We can't take anything for granted in this life.

Liam looks like a good fit for that role. Let's hope he lives up to the hype.

love this series, saw a documentary on what happened in real life so i know how the series will end, wont mention though in order to avoid spoilers!

Oh okay then............Glad to know that I won't know the outcome, lol.

Season two is done and I've watched the last episode. It's basically a pre-quel to Season 1 where we know how it ends. The "stud"gladiator is an Aussie who was in a Showcase Australia series called Satisfaction. He played a male escort in that show which was about a legal brothel. Lasted 4 seasons I think. Interesting show with a huge amount of "adult" content and attractive naked bodies. Same with Sparticus except there are a lot more severed heads.

Actually, not to get technical and all that, the prequel isn't really season 2, it's a prequel done while they waited to see what happened with Andy. Season 2 is actually starting on the 27th....like I said, not to get technical or anything lol....

Actually if you want to be technical the seasons aren't numbered they are titled. The first season was titled "Blood and Sand" and the second season filmed was titled "Gods of the Arena"

Well the "prequel" Gods of the Arena was a whole 8 episode "season" and all the House of Battiatus died at the end of Blood and Sand so the new "Season 2b" must be about the escaped gladiators rampaging or making their escape if one had to guess.

We've known this for quite some time. Get with the program, lol.

Sorry didn't sound like you did, since we were confused by the numbering system

Well, ok then, go to the spartacus website, and move your mouse over the episodes tab. It states: season one season two and prequel.....just saying.....

Lol....just shows you that we geeks can argue about anything given half a chance. On ITunes it is just names of series but one has to go by the nomenclature of the "Official website" rather than chronological order. One assumes that the popularity of the first two has resulted in them doing everything possible to keep this alive despite the death of the original Sparticus.
It got better as it went on. The cinematography of the first few episodes of the first series was brutual but the last few episodes were ok.

I actually enjoyed the prequel just as much if not even more than the 1st season. Tied a lot of the story lines together and was really well crafted on such short notice.

Yeah, I thought so too. I thought it tied a lot of the loose ends together as to how battiatus got to be the head of the luddus, how what's his face became dottori, how what's his face hurt his leg and couldn't fight (never mind the spelling or the names, still sick and can't be bothered to look em all up).

I tell you though, lots of hot sex scenes in the whole series.....The only thing they haven't shown is full on beaver shots....

I think the whole production improved the longer the show went on. I rarely watch major network shows anymore as these types of shows are more interesting.

You gentlemen have peeked my curiosity. I've never watched it but will attempt to catch up. Here's hoping series.eu is offering it.
