Since Disney bought the right to Stars Wars this had to come and sooner than you think. Yes Star Wars 7 headed by JJ Abrams due to be released in 2015. Rumors has it Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Anthony Daniels return but as small roles as they pass on their legacy to a new generation in a galaxy far far away.

Since the first 3 Star Wars (The Prequels) were duds, I have a feeling Star Wars 7 will be epic.

I saw the preview of the new star trek and it looks awesome........hopefully with JJ abrams on board the next star wars will be better than the last ones....

I saw the first one when it opened in 79 as a kid ... and was kinda happy when it all got put to rest (or so I thought) with the prequels.

As much as I have enjoyed the Star Wars franchise, I'm not enthused about the additional movies to come. Regardless of director. Where is there to go after the Dark Side no longer has cookies to bribe with? Maybe the relations with the Ewoks will become strained lmao

I did enjoy the latest Star Trek, but it told a story outside of what had been previously done ... it filled gaps in an entertaining way.

They guy from Toy Story 3 will be writing it apparently. I hope it is not targeted at kids.... fueling the toy industry even more..it is all about the bottom dollar.

I hate to see Buzz Light year as the protagonists against the Empire. To the Death Star 3 and beyond!

That's for the stand alone Star Wars that has nothing to do with original saga with JJ Abrams heading it up. The stand alone Star Wars may very well be for kids and very Disney like.
