If I may I would like to tell a funny but dumb story. My life has been that way but glad to have so many of you that have emailed me, sorry pm me with good thoughts.

One of my kids calls me that he is stuck on the highway. Called the tow truck to get it home then the next day to get it to our mechanic. I then get a call and he tells me "Sorry to say this but your kid forgot to put gas in his car that is why it did not run. There was no need to scream or get upset just part of them to realize that they have to smarten up.

Do you have similar stories that makes you wonder what you forgot to teach them.

I thank you kindly for those that reply.

LOL nothing new there Barbara. If they make the same mistake twice is when you should worry.

Had a nephew stop by and while chatting he mentioned his car was sluggish. He said he had to push down harder than normal on the accelerator to get the vehicle to respond. He dropped it off at the mechanic only to receive a call telling him the floor mat had slid up behind the gas pedal, creating resistance as he was pushing it down. Doh! Live and learn.

I had an old car that was the opposite: the mat would slip up and hold the accelerator down......made from some pretty interesting rides I tell ya.

As for Barbara's story. While at first glance, it does seem dumb that the kid didn't know they'd run out of gas. Calling the towtruck is the safest way to get off the highway and get some gas......too many times you see wankers walking along the edge or dodging 120 kph traffic to get to the vehicle.....

My brother had a thing for beetles when he first got his licence and seemed to go through them regularly. He had this really nice one that needed to have oil added all the time. One day my dad got the call that the engine quit and when my dad arrived, the engine was blown/seized. He checked the oil first thing and it was full but perfectly clean. He swears to this day that my brother, upon blowing the engine, walked down to the gas station and bought some oil and filled it up before calling my dad.....

My 15 year old brother borrowed our parents car to go for a joy ride with his buddies. Got stopped by the cops for speeding. No licence on him of cource. He got the biggest beating of his life not from Pops, from Mom :bad:

Learned lesson.

My young nephew called me the other day and asked me to buy him condoms.

He is 15 :great:

:lol:I can believe that. It happened to me I did the same thing.

But my dad then emptied the oil, looked at me then the oil and said nothing :ouch:

When we were in our teens we used to ask Mom to go out and stay late. Always NO and NO. Then we realized that our Father would never say no.

We never asked Mom again :)

That is almost as bad as asking one for permission and getting a no, then asking another and getting a yes....I did that once...ONLY once.....

my buddy tells the story of his son. the boy comes to him and says Dad can I tell you the swear word I heard at school. The father says hmmmmm let me think... what letter does it starts with ? the boy says S . the father thinks and decided that shit isn't so bad so he says sure go ahead.

The boy fires back with FUCK.. they got him a spelling tutor

My brother drove dad's car through the garage years ago. He shifted into reverse instead.

I am too embarrassed to tell stories of my mischievous kids. Some made me laugh, some made me cry.

My brother once got involved with the pyramid scheme. Cost him 5 grand.

Don't ever get into it.
