I live in a vivid area where many strikes go on.
They just screw up a few hours of my quiet Saturday, and the ext time I hear about the cause I would remember trying to work through the drums and yelling.
What would be the ways to bring these issues to people in a more civilized manner?
How do you feel about that?

Idiots, do they actually think that will give them more support, just goes to show the mentality.

I have exactly the same problem. You can't handcuff the person and tell them to feel sympathy for whatever they are striking for.

I hate when they block the area you need to go in to. They hold cars for more time.then they are supposed to and just make a scene for no reason.

I have laid on my horn for the entire time when strikes went on at Durham College. I at my music loud inside so I don't hear it. They do.

I didn't expect that it was the same for everybody -)
But whoever I talked to have the same feeling.

But I've met couple of people who blamed me for being callous about cancer or war or something. Like, "how else would they tell you about what's happening"?

Especially, not if, but when, its going to cost you more money.

And an individual citizen pulls the same shit, guess what happens to you.

They should NOT be allowed to block any private citizen from going about their life.

But the Fiberals and especially the Dippers are never going to correct that ridiculous crap.

I agree.
What are the ways to bring it in a civilized manner? Maybe none, some people avoid getting to know about the world, and it's their right.
Doesn't mean they have to be shoved that information into forcefully.

How could they get people to know about their cause? Just thinking, I disagree with this as well.

What happens? Did Jessica get in trouble for "laying on her horn"....or did it just break....:LMAO:Typical reaction from her. If she doesn't like something she throws a bombastic tantrum....
Strikes happen, inconveniences happen. Reacting inappropriately never solves anything.
I'm more anti conservative than liberal, since it was the conservatives that changed things for our industry.

^
How could one react inappropriately to some thing, that is not appropriate in the first place.

Blocking any private citizen from going about their life, is NOT an inconvenience, its simply wrong on any level.

Those idiots on the picket lines, can strike all they want, but just don't have effect my life.

Its really a lot of fun digitally communicating with them, especially when they are standing in freezing rain.

As far as your industry, I have yet experience any real change, or even hear about any, except for how street walkers are effected, as it should be..

This site we are on, still exists today.

Inappropriate to whom? People strike for a reason, not because they've nothing better to do. Regardless, adults are expected to act like adults, not kids, being denied their afternoon snack. If one becomes "inconvenienced" by another's plight they need to put on their big girl, or boy panties and work within the strikers boundaries .....We all become inconvenienced some how, from time to time, how we react to it, is telling.
As far as the differences within our industry, well... I'd say making clients criminals is a major change, and just because you've not experienced anything, doesn't mean there aren't negative impacts from C36 or major changes. Perhaps you'd have to be an escort to notice the significance of these changes...... Law enforcement in Halifax was just given a grant to fight "trafficking".... and because of, has said more busts will start occurring and it doesn't appear they'll just be looking for "traffickers".I'd say that too is a significant change. As far as this site still existing.....I'm not sure what your point is.

It is not so much the striking as it is that they don't follow striking rules.

I cant remember the time limit but when crossing a picket line, strikes are legally allowed to stop your vehicle but only for a certain amount of time. 2-4 mins ish. In that range.

The strikers at DC were doing it for over 5 mins. Sometimes up to 7-8 mins. Cause traffic jams. Huge delays in the transit system because they have a regular main bus that runs through it.

So you do what you have to do make it known that it is not cool to not follow the rules.

I actually got got the idea from the bus. You should have heard that horn! Hahahaha.

So now I am going to make my comments on this crap.
I sorta agree and disagree with Cristy - Robertson and Jessica.
but I think everyone is missing the point of the original post.
"what other ways can you bring out the strikers point in a civilized manner"?
and "what can be done about a demonstration that is out of hand"?

First lets not forget the point is about a UNION demonstration/strike
A permit for the demonstration is probably issued by a city official who is again likely a UNION person
It is reported in all likelihood by a UNION reporter
If the authorities are called it is going to be a UNION police officer that responds.
So you as a person who is upset, inconvenienced, or dismayed by the demonstration has little choice but to lash out, or accept it and move on with life.
This is why i sorta agree and disagree with the three respondents.
It would be very simple if the UNION just followed the rules laid out for them and nothing would be out of whack but they don't.
This is also why we have such a divisive attitude toward UNION"S.
PS - I hate them and wish we never had them.Damn-Not too smart

A few point regarding this/your post.

1st,... "People strike for a reason",... to black mail their employer, who is in the case of silly servants, is the general public, which the largest % is not unionized.
Example,... "we are black mailing you, the parents by refusing to teach them".
I mean, you have to feel sorry for some one who teaches grade 4 math for 7 months of the year, 5 hour days, and only makes $100,000/yr plus benefits.
If these privileged few don't act responsibly, then they can receive some horn blaring, and digital communication from me.

And once again about your "industry", I still have not seen any impact on it, except for, and quite rightly, street walkers.

What don't you get about the fact that this site still exists, for the sole reason of marketing your "industry",... ?

And you have no data to prove anything has changed, except for increased trafficking arrests, and street walkers, again, as it should be.

That is exactly it. There is no proper recourse to complain and have enforced the rules of striking.

So my horn honking is my way of protesting the protest that is not following the rules.

You want me to listen to you, to hear your side then don't be yelling and cowbelling and all the rest of it.

Hand me out something that has your points written down, ask if you can talk to me while you block my car from entering the business I'm trying to access, be civil in your protest and you will have my attention.

Ahh is that how much teachers get paid...I've teachers in my family, it's a shame I can't be more open with them, so they could post here and enlighten you to how teachers are treated and paid....but you seem to know best...:-Cool/"
I would expect as much from you, Roberston. Referring to the horn blaring etc.
Once again.... concerning my industry....and the one in which you seemingly partake.... I don't need "data", lol, nor do I need to prove anything, especially to you!.This isn't a pissing contest, although it seems with you, many things are. I have experienced changes, so have many of my peers. Some of the boards have also experienced changes, apparently, (new owners. new hosts, etc), but perhaps that is a coinckydink:)Hmmmmmm Regardless, if you won't, or can't see that things have changed, who cares:)
Btw..what is your spite towards "street walkers"?...they are a result of these "changes". Especially in the states. With their prohibitionist attitude towards the whole industry. If an escort cannot ply her trade online, or in house, the the dark alleys and street corners are where they're going to go. Things are headed in that direction here.....Might I also say boards don't "exist" "for the sole reason to market my "industry"..that certainly is a naive statement!....they seem to "exist" on the reviews and recos, and the ramblings of their members. Most escorts get most of their business from non-board members...so a review or a reco board isn't an escorts bread n butter. It would appear they "exist" more for the hobbyist rather than the escort.

Yes Cristy Teachers in our area are paid a high dollar figure and in most cases it is over 100K
I am not sure about the pay rate in your area but you may want to get some more REAL info. (never ask a teacher if they earn 100K)
Yes our industry has changed boards in general have changed yes because of legislation but I believe mostly because of keyboard warriors and piss poor moderation that allows crap!
"street walkers" they gotta eat as well and it is often the only way for them to make money for food and in a lot of cases drugs.
Big clamp down has been made on trafficking and pimping in Ontario not sure about elsewhere but it should be everywhere.
I agree boards don"t exist for the sole purpose but they exist and it helps like it or not. We profile the good and help get rid of the bad.
Yes you might get a client that is not a member or an active member of a board BUT!!! he heard about you someplace and if he did any type of homework it probably started or came from a board. Sorry but that is just a fact in most cases.
So I guess a picture of your legs in dark nylons with a seam in the back with high heals is now out of the question. LOL
