The Federal Bureau of Investigation says a 19-year-old Washington state man was charged last year after pretending to be calling from the home of a married California couple, saying the husband had just shot and killed someone.
“A local SWAT team arrived on the scene, and the husband, who had been asleep in his home with his wife and two young children, heard something and went outside to investigate after first stopping in the kitchen to pick up a knife. What he found was a group of SWAT assault rifles aimed directly at him. Fortunately, the situation didn’t escalate, and no one was injured,” the FBI states.

It's a sad state of society to think that there are idiots out there that think this is cool and or funny to do....

I wholeheartedly support the guy in the story who got 11 yrs........IMO this is no different than the "uttering" laws we have whereby you get arrested for uttering a threat to someone....(I personally know someone who was arrested on this charge when he said to his ex-wife: you do that and you'll regret it. I was there when he said it too and it was in response to her saying that she was going to make sure she and their daughter weren't around when he came to pick her up for his visitation......He was supposed to take his daughter to a carnival or something and his ex-wife was pissed off at him so she was going to fuck up his plans with his daughter in retaliation)

Shit we now have cyber bullies. At least with the live ones I would step in front of them, make them make the first move and fix him up. How do we deal with these pricks.

Dude, cyber bullies have been around for years and it has only been recently that those caught doing this, are arrested and charged with criminal harassment. There's been quite a few stories in the news about this.

The beauty about cyber bullying (as in "the net" and via text msgs on cellphones) there is a hard traceable means of tracking the offences. The school can't poo poo it under the rug and require proof when it's staring them in the face.
