Switching from Telus to WIND.

what's switching phone carriers like? will I be able to switch contacts and pictures from my old phone to a new phone with a different company at their store? Telus is expensive and their data plan is a price gouging service unlike wind. some people won't give you WIFI password.

All I can tell you is from 2 years ago. I switched and it sucked the big one, not sure about lately though.

Why not Rogers?. They have a great 2 year plan and fantastic range, I can even call from an elevator.

Rogers plans are from $90 and up. that's too much

If your phone is unlocked and supports the WIND frequencies you should just be able to swap a new SIM card into it. If you need a new phone it's pretty easy to save your data to the cloud and restore onto your new phone. Both Apple and Android can do that now.

I went thru this recently and decided that it wasn't worth the risk of scrappy service. I would b sitting in a restaurant and thru guy beside me is on Wind or Mobolicity. I'm on Bell. My connection is great, and they either have 1 bar or super slow data.

For the extra dollars I also stay with bell for better reception. Only problem is their customer service phone line sucks. Who wants to wait 20 minutes to then be transferred to another and another person.

I know in my city WIND has a week signal and lots of dropped calls and no service/data.
Im with fido but not crazy about it...tryed telus also...not a fan.
From what I have read Rodgers is one of the better ones.


As for contacts, they can be transfered and same with pics.
Sometimes hard to transfer pics/vids so you might want to upload them to a private facebook or host site...can also email them to yourself. If your using the same phone and change the sim card contacts should be the only thing that needs to be transfered.

i switched to wind yesterday using my same phone number. their signal are stronger than Telus. recently before switching i noticed the cell phone signal was fluctuating.
