I think teaching is the most important job next to parenting.
@Primo-where has your egalitarianism gone? Aren't you typically vying for being non-biased and non-exclusionary? How is wanting all schools to go private and wanting "fast food" schools, fair, non-biased and inclusionary or beneficial to *all* families and all children?
In Canada we have independent schools, private and public schools, all follow different curricula and some follow the belief of including religion within their teachings and some don't. So imo, what is broken in Canada, isn't if we should privatize all schools, but instead readjust how we fund our public schools. Some might not be aware that in Canada government funds all types. Yet it is the private schools that get most of the government funds. I believe it was in 2016 that the government gave 341 million worth of funding towards private schools, up 30 million from the previous year. If the government put those types of funds into public education, I think we'd be better off and would obviously have better public schools. The system is broken and having it all one way or the other is not the answer. Their needs to be diversity in the types of schools as well as their students and staff. We need politicians that side with all types, and who will take seriously the need to improve public education. Besides the types of school though, parents need to do their job as well, providing they're incomes allows, to match their children with the right school by understanding and by paying attention to their child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs.
