With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I though this might be a fun way to share some of our favourite traditional fare with thankful flair

Add to this thread one (or more) holiday dish(es) that you will be thankful to see on your table this year!

I'll be thankful to see my grandmothers cucumber salad adorn our holiday table this year.

It's super easy to make and tastes delicious!
1 English Cucumber (peeled and sliced)
2/3 Cup of Sour Cream
Salt & Pepper to taste (aprox 1/4tsp of each)
*thinly sliced onion if desired

In bowl mix cucumber and sour cream well enough to cover all cucumber slices.
Add S&P to taste (also add onion if desired) stir well and refrigerate over night.
Mix well prior to serving and enjoy!

Garnish Tip:
Use cucumber peels to add a splash of colour by simply grating the peel, or making small tendril/curls with a paring knife

What are you gonna be thankful to see on your table this year?

Sounds awesome.
If I can offer a variant with this

Add 1/2 teaspoon freshly chopped chives
and zest one lemon into the mixture.

Our Thanksgiving is at the end of November.
It is a time to celebrate family.
Where we get together just because we care.
Unlike other Holiday were it is more so out of tradition and obligation.

Nice thread Pamela, and I'm thankful for it.
I'm not sure if I'll get home to see my mother and other relatives this year, they all live out of province. If I'm able I'll be thankful for their company and quite frankly anything my mom makes is delicious. Can't narrow it down to just one thing, perhaps her bread or pie's and cranberry sauce......Her dinners were always traditional, nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. I don't eat fowl or meat so it is hard for her cook for me.But she tries and always does a good job:)

And here I am thinking we are special when you share this.

But you shared it with others too :shout:

I like homemade stuffing made from:

1 loaf of multigrain bread torn into small pieces, let dry out overnight.
Add
1 tbsp or more poultry seasoning to taste
Chopped apples, raisins, onions and celery.

Stuff into turkey or bake in a greased dish at 350 F for 1 hour, stirring a few times.

Yum :whipit:

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted to this thread

I'm definitely gonna try escapes stuffing recipe, and Papa's variation to my grandmother's cucumber salad this year!

I'm also going to try making this recipe, and if it turns out I'm gonna be one very thankful chocoholic indeed ;)
