And that would be?
Kinda hard to feel thankful when you "have to be there" but are treated like you aren't. Give you an example, no one told me we were having an early dinner.
I can identify Dave. I've been avoiding family gatherings for decades, but it's easy for me since I'm in BC and they're in Ontario. :wink2:
On the bright side, I had a cool thing happen today.
I think I posted here before about my encounter with a 90 year old blind man in my neighbourhood this summer. I helped him reach his destination safely one day when he was lost.
Well today I was at the grocery store and just happened to exit behind the same man! I didn't realize it was him until I saw him wandering into the parking lot, then recognized the same tweed jacket he'd been wearing on that hot summer day.
I said good morning and asked if he need help, then reminded him of when we'd met before. He said yes, he needed a taxi, so I called one for him, then asked the security guard to make sure he got into the taxi. The old guy said he didn't even know the store had security guards, lol. He must have the store memorized to be able to get around inside.
The first time I met him, he told me he wasn't supposed to be out on his own, but he must have escaped again today. We had a quite a chuckle about the fact that I'd appeared to rescue him again, and that I must be his guardian angel!
Can you imagine having the balls to sneak out of the old folks home at age 90 when you can't see?? He must have tremendous faith in humanity to expect to get home safely every time. What a sense of adventure, lol.
