The Toronto Maple Leafs could have American ownership, as the teacher's pension fund want to sell their majority ownership , a U.S. company is interested in buying the Blue and White.

I'm not big on the idea now that you bring it up.

MLSE will be a cash cow for whoever owns it though. That is a given.

George Gillett (an American) owns Liverpool FC, and for a time owned the Habs. At least in the case of the Habs, he was regarded somewhat favourably. I don't know enough about his ownership of Liverpool, but on the whole he seems to embody the model of a good owner from the fan point of view.


I dislike Tannenbaum, but I despise the OTPP more.
