I'm absolutely hooked on this show. Based on actual historical accounts of a Spanish family - the Borgias, that rose to power by becoming the Pope. The story is great and full of violence in sex in just the right combination.

The actors that play the roles are fantastic but the standout for me is Lucrezia Borgia played by Holliday Grainger. A sweat an not so innocent daughter of the Pope who's appetite for men is only rivaled by the vindictiveness she unleashes when she is scorned by them. The historical accounts of this family seem outrageous. The show was first billed as them being the first "crime family" of Rome.

In one particularly uncomfortable scene in last nights episode Lucrezia was so displeased by her future husband not "bedding her" that she resorted to flirting with her brother - Ceasre, naked on a bed to get some sort of perverse sexual frustration out of her.
