My rules for life applied to this situation is to live and let live. If any two people want to get married, so be it. I don't understand why religious conservatives feel that they have some kind of monopoly on morals. The genius of the US constitution is that it doesn't allow for a religion to decide the morals for its citizens. Suppose that in 2050 there was actually a majority of citizens who were Muslim...would all the god fearing christians then want the government (islamic most likely) to tell them how to live. I don't care if the founding fathers were christians...they knew enough to keep god out of things. You don't like gay marriage...don't get married to someone of your same gender. Otherwise, leave everyone else to live life the way they wish.

Primo if your example of 2050 having the majority of the population being Muslim, God forbid. Do you not believe Sharia Law would not become reality even in North America? I know gay marriage is a genie that has been let out and can probably not be put back in it's bottle but at what point do we draw the line. Do we want gay sex promoted in our young school kids? I agree at a certain age everyone has the right to choose their path as they see fit but why insist on instilling homosexuality into kids under the age of 10? This is where I see a life style being pushed down our throats while we are kicking and screaming but trying to do it without looking like racists, which I'm not!

The age at which gay sex is taught is crucial. Also, it should be presented within the context that homosexuality represents 3% of the population, not 10%. The latter number is great PR for gay rights activism. Before any debate starts on 3% Google the question and read the first 15 links. Other issues to discuss to present a fair evaluation of the gay lifestyle would include higher rates of addiction, and disease. Not sure about suicide, but read something about it once.

My comments are posted simply to put some facts and context to the question, as opposed to agenda driven like Bazerko and his ilk. I am an older guy and grew up around gay men and was cool with gay long before it was fashionable.

I am dealing with it but why can we not have an intelligent debate about it without everyone tossing stones. Why must we be so politically correct that we must keep our opinions to ourselves. I don't disagree with you, we are all human beings and I don't wish harm on anyone. Many believe marriage is an outdated institution yet other groups want to have the recognition and I mainly believe it's for monetary reasons. After all anyone can live with whomever they like why does a piece of paper make a difference unless it has tax advantages? If you watch the clip I posted Suz Orman stated as much and she's an advocate for gay marriage.

I hired an individual last week who I was well aware of his sexual preference. I hired him because he was the best qualified for the job and he's proven me right.
