i've only read that it was a camp run by the liberal party of Norway. kids of various backgrounds and faiths attended because of the inclusionary nature of Norwegian politics, which was thus nutcase's beef.

News is now coming out that most kids were from Islamic religion. My brother told me that. It does now make sense. Why would a white boy kill white people.

The man allegedly behind Norway's devastating terror attacks, Anders Behring Breivik, is now under arrest. And he should count himself lucky for—if entirely undeserving of—a penal system in that country that is among the cushiest in the world. There's no capital punishment, and the longest jail term allowed is 21 years (a caveat: if a prisoner is deemed to still be a threat, his sentence can be extended in five-year blocks indefinitely, though it's , according to Norwegian officials). In Norway, rehabilitation is the guiding principle, not punishment—a somewhat difficult notion to swallow given the gravity and callousness of his crimes.

Norway's newest jail may hold rapists and murderers, but Halden Prison—the country's second largest and facility—looks more like a posh sleepaway camp. In fact, architects say they purposely tried to avoid an "institutional feel." When it opened in 2010, some news accounts called it the "most humane" prison in the world.

Indeed, one of the many perks at Halden is flat-screen televisions in inmates' rooms. There's no HBO, though, so reruns of Oz and The Wire are contraband. Still, prisoners get private cells with mini-fridges and large windows to let in more sunlight. Here, then, is a quick tour of what luxuries may await Breivik behind bars. (That's a figure of speech, of course: There are no iron bars at Halden.)

Breivik criticises 'inhumane' jail conditions

Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian mass killer, has complained about his conditions in prison, with grievances ranging from not being able to keep moisturiser in his cell to the temperature of his coffee.

The complaints are included in a 27-page letter to prison authorities obtained by the Norwegian tabloid VG which was published on Friday and verified by his lawyer.
In the document, Breivik protests that the censorship of his letters was so strict that his freedom of expression was being impinged upon, Tord Jordet, said.

"I highly doubt that there are worse detention facilities in Norway," the right-wing extremist, who killed 77 people in a bombing and shooting frenzy in July last year, says in the letter.
Norway's justice ministry declined to comment.

Breivik earned international notoriety last year when he detonated a bomb outside the centre-left government's headquarters on July 22 and then went on the rampage at a Labour Party youth camp on the island of Utoeya, killing 77 people, many of them teenagers.

He was sentenced in August to 21 years in jail for "acts of terror" over the worst peacetime atrocity in Norway, and is now being held in near complete isolation at a high security prison outside Oslo.
