I saw it a couple of weeks ago with a friend of mine and this is my take on it. It's just another one of those movies where a child gets possessed, like several previous ones, so it is nothing too special. It is reportedly based off a true story and does have it's creepy moments. In the first half and there were a couple moments where someone in the audience screamed. But to me, the movie seemed to be a rip-off of the The Exorcist (1973).
The storyline involves a family that is deeply troubled by the erratic behavior of their youngest daughter after she purchases an antique wooden box at a yard sale. She becomes obsessed with it and ends up becoming possessed and the rest of the movie is very predictable.
All in all, it was an ok watch. I would give it 5 or 6/10.
