IMO it is because a LOT of people just don't take care of themselves any longer. It used to be that as kids, we were always tearing around burning up energy and it wasn't until we hit middle age that we started packing on the pounds. Now? There's a LOT of kids overweight. I saw one the other day riding his bike that must have been around 10, I bet he weighed almost as much as I do.....he had a tight T shirt on and he didn't just have a muffin top, he had the whole pan!!!
