North Carolina is really going to the mat with this one.

Because the NC failed to meet a deadline in either repealing or fixing its law requiring transgender people to use public bathrooms matching their birth certificates, the U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced Monday that the Department of Justice has filed a federal lawsuit with the state.

“This is not the first time that we have seen discriminatory responses to historic moments of progress for our nation,” Lynch says in the clip above. “We saw it in the Jim Crow laws that followed the Emancipation Proclamation; we saw it in the fierce and widespread resistance toBrown v. Board of Education; and we saw it in the proliferation of state bans on same-sex unions that were intended to stifle any hope that gay and lesbian Americans might one day be afforded the right to marry.”

What’s with North Carolina. I’ve never visited the state, but I thought they were smarter than this. Isn’t there a booming tech industry? Research Triangle?



 
Let them sue ans show cause.........Because we like the idea is not evidence.

I do not believe the Feds can demand that a State abandon all gender identifiers because they say so.

Start with the Birth Certificates and eliminate gender on them and eliminate the term Mother from them and change to to gestational incubator and the Father to Legally Obligated.

That should clear the war for gender neutrality.

You can't discriminate against gender and when Hillary wins you will finally be allowed to use public washrooms as opposed to smerf hutts

The birth certificates are being updated with two spaces for Parent, they will no longer differentiate between Mother and Father. The baby's gender will still be listed.

I don't really understand why McCrory is going All-In with this issue, but he doesn't seem to be backing down at all. :dontknow:
 
I can understand the ada thing (I'm a business owber btw). But this is different. Outside of hermaphrodites, we were all born with a penis or vagina. Use the bathroom accordingly. Gen pop shouldn't be effected just because you wake up one day and think you are something you aren't.

Not to mention this is a huge slippery slope.

Shouldn't have to burden all to accommodate a few.

Handicapped, sure, but this is a decision, possibly a mental illness and does open the floodgates for perverts of all genders to take advantage and prey on others. Not the end of the world if it stands but I'm not at all a fan of it.
 
In another story out of Florida that could be filed under “Not An Onion Article,” Anita Staver (here’s her Facebook page — she’s a public figure), the Orlando-based Liberty Counsel president said that because Target is allowing transgender people to use their public restrooms, she’ll be taking her Glock .45 with her into said Target’s restrooms. [My] gun “identifies as my bodyguard,” Staver said in a tweet.

North Carolina school system to allow pepper spray


A North Carolina school system has adopted a policy allowing high school students to carry pepper spray this fall, a policy one board member said may be useful for students who encounter transgender classmates in the bathroom.
The Salisbury Post reports (https://bit.ly/1TzmUGY) the policy was adopted by the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education during a work session on Monday.

Board member Chuck Hughes said using the sprays was purely defensive, and he referenced the North Carolina law that limits LGBT rights, saying such sprays could help female students if they go to the bathroom and don't know who's coming in after them.

The defensive spray clause won't affect students until it's published in the upcoming student handbook.

They make it sound like all TG's are perverted predators to be feared. That's really sad and very discriminatory.
