Made with Love

The very last thing you just bought?

Spent the evening doing the install.

Works fine, but gawd I hate retrofit plumbing.

Now I wish I'd also bought one of these this afternoon:

Have you tried it yet?.

Played it for about a half an hour in the store before I bought it. I tried about 7 or 8 different basses in the past month or so before I decided on this one. Just finished playing it for a couple of hours right now.

Upside:
The active pickups and tonal options are incredible
The neck is sleek and fast
Has a low 'B'
Solidly built
Quite light
Price (bought it used)

Downside:
Has a low 'B'
Looks good, but not a huge fan of the finish
Would have prefered an Ash body instead of mahogany
Has a little 'buckle rash' on the back

Keep in mind I am not a bass player, I just needed to get a bass to do some recordings that I am working on. It is without a doubt a quality instrument regardless of price, (I usually buy more 'high end' instruments). I am however a big fan of Ibanez, I've owned at least a dozen of their guitars over the past 30 or so years. This is my first ever bass.

Right now I own:

Martin D28
Gibson Les Paul
Gibson Flying V
Carvin X220
BC Rich Mockingbird
Fender Strat
Fender Tele
Ibanez Jem

To give an idea...

As a whole I'd give it a 7.5/10
For an instrument in the $600-$800 range I'd give it a 9+/10.

It was/is a good buy.
