The world's population is expected to hit seven billion in the next few weeks. After growing very slowly for most of human history, the number of people on Earth has more than doubled in the last 50 years.

Where do you fit into this story of human life?

Fill in your date of birth below to find out what number you were.

When you were born,

you were the: 3,352,458,549th person alive on Earth

77,273,091,634thperson to have lived since history began

How big is your country's population? To find out, tell us where you live:

Canada
POPULATION 34,133,222

When you were born, you were the:3,242,673,231stperson alive on Earth77,075,972,332ndperson to have lived since history began.

Fuck - so far I'm the oldest guy who posted.

When you were born, you were the: 3,020,361,427 th person alive on Earth 76,655,488,106 th person to have lived since history began

I put China as my Country for the hell of it: POPULATION 1 343 578 013

You are 49, male and living in Canada
You were the 3,153,229,518th person
Canada
Your country's population is 34,016,593

Average life expectancy is 78.2 years

What's next? The global population will continue to increase during your lifetime and beyond, reaching 10 billion by 2083. However, the rate of growth is expected to slow. Little of the current growth is happening in developed countries like yours.
Longer lives: Working-age people like you will be supporting increasing numbers of older people during the next decades. By 2050, there will be just 2.2 people of working age supporting every person aged 65 or older in the developed world. In Europe, this will drop to just two.
Battle for resources: It is estimated that your group of the richest countries consumes double the resources used by the rest of the world. The UN estimates that if current population and consumption trends continue, by the 2030s we will need the equivalent of two Earths to support us.
Did you know? The average family size globally has declined by half since 1950 - from five children to the current 2.5.

139 people
the amount the population has grown while you've been on this site

It looks like we're gonna have to space travel to other planets, kick some alien ass and steal their natural resources to keep our own planet going :)

Who's with me??!!! :whip:

Pedo? they aren't having sex, they're just talking........Shit. I talked to the 16 yr old at timmies today, OMFG I'm a pedo too!

The interesting number is the amount population grew in the amount of time I was on the site: 188

As I've said time and time again: we have enough people, we don't have enough animals. As sad and devistating as it is, we need things like the Japan Tsunami, the California earthquake, etc to reduce our population or at least slow the growth....

As for the "needing 2 earths" statement, we'll poison ourselves long before we get to that point......

Once you start to overpopulate a closed system of rats cannibalism sets in.
We are getting close to that.

Remember "Soylent Green is people."
