*Warning, personal rant*
I'm rather young and grew up in the transition between the "let's go outside and play" and "let's talk on MSN" Era. Having access to all this information and being able to dabble into the lives of adults as well as celebrities really affects how adolescents grow. They learn quickly and want to be treated as an adult; learn the "adult" lifestyle and dress the same way; but are ironically treated as children and are restricted of many things a normal adults would do. The most disliked teachers were usually the ones that were condescending or lack empathy for their students ("I gotta hit deadlines, I don't care if your grandma died").
The most prominent thing that sticks out during my highschool years was the enormous amount of tension and stress shared between all students. Out of the 225 kids in my grade, 80 dropped out. 40 Failed. The A+ Students had Zero social life and tended to their studies for a little more than 3 hours a day. I could go on and on about the educational system but that's not the point. An overwhelming amount of them had no ambition and most of them have said "I'm going to pay $16k a year, for 5 years of school, get 80k down the hole, and houses are a fucking goldmine so the minimum down i gotta put is probably like 50k, I'll just work until I'm dead.". A ridiculous amount of friends resorted to escorting or drugs. When I say RIDICULOUS I mean almost ALL of them.
I believe that the internet/technology has set standards on how things should be in life. The house,the cars, how you dress, everything. I'm positive it has affected the SPs, through clients or the way they work. People aren't nice to each other because they're trying to climb on top of the others. There's no emotions hiding behind a screen.
Sorry for the rant, just had to get the stress off my chest. We'll see how the future generations work out, hopefully for the better.
