A message board I'm on recently switched from .com to .ca. At first I had no problem, but now when I try to go there, I get this message...

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to xxxxxx.ca, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Being the techno-dinosaur that I am, I'm not sure how serious this is or if I can just ignore it? Thoughts?

It just means the site is using httpS but they don't have their certificate on the server setup correctly. You can just ignore it and continue to the site.

Since those other sites xxxx and xxxx..moved to .cc extension (Overseas) they do the same thing...

Hope this helps

I'm always here to help a dinosaur, btw I need a pair of boots for this weekend!!

Thank you, that does help. It says I'm getting the message because the certificate is issued to a different site, so I think it's probably still in the name of .com instead of .ca.

I appreciate the help. :smiling:

SillyGirl, I call MM and he asked for a pair and if you have a red or black mini you can show us with the boots??

I am getting the same message. Tried to copy it and paste it here but it won't allow me.

You sure I should click on YES?.

Gives you this?

This is probably not the site you are looking for?. Then has a red slash over the https?.

I personally think my boots are top notch but sorry they can't be borrowed by anyone.
