Should the author of a thread be able to determine who is allowed to post?

Should they be the only ones allowed to ask questions in the thread?

This is a public board, with a wide variety of personalities. Sometimes things get posted that other members find offensive...I myself was just offended this morning. I'm not going to respond to the offensive post, or go crying to the mods. I will simply note to self that the poster is apparently a racist asshole, and strive to have no further interaction with him.

A board that does not permit differing opinions would be a very boring board indeed.

No because some of us have been saving up our snarky comments for quite some time now and we need an outlet.

Only if it makes them look immature and needy in the process.

I expect you all to agree with me otherwise you're going to hell. And hell is NOT what you think it is. It's cold and very much like discussion boards in that it's filled with annoying asshats that throw around bad metaphors and puns. And to top it all off ,they pipe in Celion Dion music everyday for eternity.

No but I would love to see how anyone could get a Building Permit from the City to occupy a box on the roof.

To be honest we have to give the mods something to do. How else are we able to rise up and scream they are oppressing us if they keep out of the line of fire.

I'm pretty sure I know what offended you and it made me laugh. It was even funnier yesterday before being altered.


I only have a handful of people on my ignore list and they usually wind up there after I roll my eyes too much at their drivel. While I'm not enraged about censorship like so many here, I do prefer not having my words altered without consent. Up till recently, the moderators wonderfully did their jobs in the shadows. If you were naughty, you saw them. If you were naive and mostly normal, you wondered if any existed. I really liked that.

There are forums dedicated to Sports, Movies, TV, Politics, Religion, etc, and I'd like to respectfully suggest that anyone who's THAT serious about their threads and who's allowed to post what, when, in them, post there.

The Lobby is for public conversation and everyone is encouraged to participate.
