Three dead, 9 injured following shootout at Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs

Colorado bleeds again.

A suspect is in police custody following a deadly, hours-long ordeal at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colo., where three people were killed and nine others were injured in a spasm of gun violence Friday.

One police officer and two civilians died from wounds suffered in the shootings, authorities announced at a news conference.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs said the officer killed was Garrett Swasey, 44, who had been with the department for six years and responded to the initial reports of an active shooter.

57-year-old Robert Lewis Dear. Dear entered Planned Parenthood Friday morning, started firing, killing 5 people (one of them a cop), and wounding 9 (5 of them being cops).

Of course, this isn’t Dear’s first time popping off. He’s been arrested for traffic violations and animal cruelty (but found not guilty for the latter).

He’s also been charged with being a Peeping Tom and eavesdropping, but those charges were dropped.

No word on what he agenda with Planned Parenthood, but we can all take a guess…
