Toronto police Order to ticket more.....
A book a day....25 tickets....
So be careful ........

The system is now stacked against the driver. It's harder to get a court date as we must now waste a day to go down in person to file. Discretion seems to be taken away from the officers and they ticket first and leave it to the prosecutor to ask questions. They assign court cost to reduced fines which brings the cost back up. The officers make big dollars overtime wise to show up to court. It's really become a win win for the system and a lose lose for the driver, especially when you factor in the higher insurance costs.

I received a ticket 2 weeks ago and charged with driving 10 over along King Side Rd. just west of Keele. I was speeding but I don't believe more than 5 to 7kms over at the most. I asked to see the radar and was told to go to court if I had any questions about the ticket. At that point I left it alone, I learned a long time ago it doesn't pay to argue with an officer. Since I'm retired I have the time to go in person to file for a court day and have the time to spend another day fighting the ticket. I will use it for entertainment purposes since it's my first ticket in 20 years.

I say what's the big deal. If you are a responsible driver it should not matter to you.

I say what's the big deal. If you are a responsible driver it should not matter to you.

the problem is, even if you're a responsible driver any cop can find you guilty of something...there are so many obscure laws that all they have to do is look at you and they'd find something...even if you're parked!

I mean, for example, if you come up to a red at an intersection, you can be ticketed if you bumper extends over the thick white line.....or if you're driving and you drift over the dotted lane divider, you can be charged with failing to remain in your lane......a really popular one is where the speed limit drops, if you're going even slightly over the lowered speed after reaching the sign, you can be charged because you're supposed to have slowed to that speed by the time you get to the sign....same as when the speed limit increases, if you speed up before reaching the sign, you can be charged.,..,..

You can also be charged for going too slow....it's called "impeding the flow of traffic"

Sometimes being wrong is a good thing. Now all the bad drivers will behave knowing the cops are out there watching them.

no, bad drivers are just bad drivers and they won't care one whit....it's only the cautious or "good" drivers who will suffer....i mean, if someone is going to run a red, they're going to before this new order or after, doesn't make them a better driver...

like that kid who posted his video of him doing 200 mph on youtube....his mom bought the bike and put it in her name since he had already lost his licence for varous offences.......

The quota system is wrong regardless how you spin it. Sitting in fishing holes is wrong regardless as you spin it. An officer chooses the spots where he points his radar and they are choosing places where they can quickly fill their quota and this is obvious.
