Tighter restrictions needed on Toronto panhandlers

they all need, problem with penhandlers is that they believe that is their job

it pisses me off when i go to my local Rabbas & this dude is sitting right infront of it begging, i told the staff and the management last year that i did not appreciate that they allow him to sit right infront of their store...this fucken neanderthal walks up and down my street sometimes 4 o'clock in the morning, pissed drunk, yelling and talking out loud...when i have my windows open, he wakes me up...i hate these muddafukas

Did you read that story? $9 million into the homeless outreach program? Holy crap....how many homeless are there? Say there's 10,000, that's 900 each and I highly doubt there's even 1,000. If there is only 1,000 that's $9,000.00 each...holy crap......it'd be better to just give them the fricken money......

As for many "it's their job" I remind everyone of "the shaky lady" who lived in a 2 bedroom condo with a big screen tv and road to work in a black town car......

Unfortunately in our PC do gooder society, they'd never do this but I say:

Drive up in a school bus. Out come 10 cops. Round up the beggars and take them to a local park and hand them a garbage bag and say: clean it up.....

Or give em a pair of rubber gloves and a scraper and set em to work scraping the gum off the sidewalks.....

The problem with that is then you never make any progress. What has to be done is make the punishment worse than the crime. Right now, from the sounds of it, if they get ticketed, nothing happens to them. Same as making them spend a night in jail. BFD, they get a warm bed and 3 meals.

There's a shit load of work that needs to be one around the city.

Another program is if you're elderly, and own a house, you apply and get a supervised crew to cut your grass etc.

Don't give them money, you don't feed pigeons or raccoons because that increases their numbers.

There's one outside my local Foodland that sings, sells pencils, and will hold your dog and probably doesn't drink, he doesn't bother me but I'm sure dozens of people avoid shopping there.

EXACTLY...(but then that'd just piss off all the italians because then they couldn't make their dandelion wine).

FUnny enuff, after that story broke she went right back to her regular corner and kept right on getting donations.

The follow up to that was I think it was city tv interviewed a guy who had just given her money...they asked him: did you see the story on her? that's she's not really handicapped? The idiot said "yeah, I saw the story, so..."? lol.....

I think he's the type that also frequents Asian agencies and wonders why the girl that shows up looks very different from the girl he asked for!

He wasn't the only one, they filmed and interviewed a bunch of people....

I think the problem is they just don't care......they think they're doing "good" by giving them money....

Oh I remember the "SHaky Lady"....I saw her a few times in downtown Toronto and boy she was an incredible actress! I am surprised she hadnt been nominated for an Oscar. She was that gooooood.

I am just wondering and apologize in advance for my ignorance....don't these panhandlers receive welfare or some kind of gov't assistance...I am aware there are some homeless people who have mental health issues but I am referring to those who don't have one (excluding runaway teenagers from abused homes).....just wondering.
