I guess my post seems a bit callous and in need of explanation. There was an incident in the family history of my father and his father using the tree for some target shooting after some holiday indulgence. This happened back after my father returned from the Pacific after WWII. Sorry for the ill-timed comment.

well, from a safety standpoint, by now the tree is dry as tinder even if you've kept it watered.....it's like keeping an open can of gasoline around. One little spark and your house would be gone.....

SO, the prudent thing to do is take it down by new years day.

actuallly we never shoot to ornaments off the tree.
only time you use a gun in the house is when you are forced to.
Otherwise it is just a friend you keep clean and in working order.
You take it out occasionally to fire at targets but that is about it.

Haha! Nope. No relation. Although, I can respect that. I :heart: Christmas. Always have. Heck, I listen to my Christmas playlist all year round.

But alas, I took down the tree yesterday. I had to make room for a new toy
