Tim's coffee vs. McDonald's coffee

I had two coffees this morning. I was up very early with a friend, and we needed some breakfast. I decided to pick up Timmy's mainly because I wanted a toasted bagel (with extra butter). With my meal I had a medium coffee, which was fresh and good, typically Tim's tasting.

Less than an hour later we had to make a stop at McDonald's on the way home (takeout for others). While I was in there I figured I could use another coffee, and redeemed a free muffin I had previously won in the Monopoly contest. I got back to the car, took the last sip of the Tim's coffee and opened the McDonald's coffee (kind of like chain smoking, but with coffee instead). And wow, what a difference!

The Tim's coffee is fine, I'm used to the taste, but when you have the McDonald's coffee immediately after, the McD's coffee BLOWS the Tim's coffee right out of the water. McD's coffee is so superior to Tim's that I don't think I'll ever have Tim's again.

Well, okay, I probably will, but definitely if there's a Tim's and a McDonald's side by side, choose the McDonald's for the coffee.

You're welcome!

I've been addicted to Tim's for many years, but was really impressed by how good McD's was when I tried it. :good:

To me Tims coffee tastes more like tea to me it is so weak.

McDs is better but still not strong enough for me.

I drink a lot of coffee, but mostly at home and work. I've known for a while that McD's was better, but a side-by-side comparison like this really proves it conclusively! Really, I had no idea how much better until today.

The difference is night and day......The problem is we become set in our habits and seldom step beyond them.I use my French Press and Espresso at home or my Kcup maker and JETFUEL coffee.

oh theres a coffee place in toronto called Jet Fuel..... i don't like coffee at all but latte and cappuccino are great for me.

All of you MOFO's just like to torture me. Coffee talk but not one cup of black coffee......MOFO'S!

I definitely think MCd's coffee is the best, add in a feta egg wrap and the it's a glorious start to a Monday morning.

McDonalds coffee is better than you'd expect. I drink my coffee black so neither is my first choice.

However I just realized that I'm out of coffee for my press so it's off to Timmie's. Must have coffee...

Anything but Starbucks. Their prices are absurd, that's called robbery.

I just drink black coffee. The price at Starbucks is $1.95, not that much more than the $1.75 (I think) for a Tim's the same size. I think McDonald's is a little cheaper, especially when you factor in the stickers (collect 7 and get your next coffee free, plus there's a sticker on the free cup so it's really buy 6), and McD's has a lot of free coffee weeks.

Tim's used to be good. Then they watered it down. Even the Dark tastes weak and burnt. I actually prefer McD's, and their give-aways of coffees are what got me trying them. Great marketting!

I remember tim hortons donuts and tibbits tasted so good. Now I would nt buy them at all. Such a shame...i wish they werent bought out by a major franchise.

McDonald's large coffee with blueberry muffin for $2.17...my favorite every single morning

Students given 100 times too much caffeine in experiment

Some people drink five or six cups of coffee a day.

No one, my entirely unscientific mind tells me, should drink 300.

This, however, is what essentially happened to two students who took part in an experiment two years ago to examine the effects of caffeine on exercise at the UK's Northumbria University.

As the BBC reported Wednesday, Alex Rossetto and Luke Parkin -- both sports science students -- were given 30 grams of caffeine each. They were supposed to have received 0.3 gram.

In essence, they were subjected to the equivalent 300 cups of coffee. They were rushed to the hospital and underwent dialysis. Prosecutors said their conditions were life-threatening. (Yes, there was a court case.)

Both made a physical recovery, the BBC reported, though Rossetto still experiences memory loss.

As to how much caffeine can kill you, science isn't sure. Some say an overdose is 10 grams. Other research suggests that 5 grams can be fatal.
