I understand. In this case it was used properly and no one got hurt. The bigger problem is cities where you need a gun for protection and what can be done to minimize crimes. People shouldn't need a gun to feel safe and it's sad that in some cities they do need them.

I think they forfeit their lives when they kick down that door. They had several choices along the way where they could have followed a different path. They were lucky to get away with their lives.

As for the children seeing their mother shoot someone. I don't know why they'd need therapy. Most kids will understand that someone tried to hurt them and their mother did what she had to do to stop them.

That is an adult's rationalization. Kids do not see the world the same way. There is no certainty that they would need therapy but it wouldn't be a bad thing.
