Made with Love

To our valuable members. Site will be down Saturday, July 27 for major maintenance work.

I tell you. After having to browse the other sites for the last 24 hours again, this one looks TGTBT but it is. S etc... has new repeated threads obviously made up by new created handles that I had a hard time keeping my laughter down. The other one has all Asian reviews.

Anyone caught that?.

The minimum width before getting a scroll bar is 650px

Okay, that explains it. Actually even using a 675px width, I get scroll bars, but at 700px, it's gone.

Oh, yes, and horizontal line separators in the messages are no longer being displayed.
There should be a horizontal line between this line and the above line.

What do the blank avatars in the lower right corner of the avatars of the creators of the threads signify?

No idea what you mean...there are no lines missing.

Should be 'your' avatar...meaning you posted in the thread.

I like that it is so strikingly different from earlier versions as well as other boards. Great job!

The collapsible bar at the left for advertisers, latest posts, etc., on the Lobby page:

I can click to collapse it so more info is visible in the member and thread fields, but each time I come back to the Lobby, it pops out again. I prefer the old system, where once clicked it stayed that way, either full field or collapsed, whenever I returned to the lobby. Now I have to click to get rid of it each time.

This is not a life-challenging event, merely another example of the Art of expert anal-retentive nit-picking . . .
but I did like the previous options.:biggrin2:

I am with you on that. Also font size is quite small for proper accessibility. The big white space can be an issue for some as well. Users may have to adjust their own computers setting for font and zoom to compensate, which is fine, it just means that they may have to do this every time they use HUBGFE as other sites are more standard.

Other then that, looks good.

In the bottom left corner of the forum there is the style chooser. A new option has been added 'Fluid' You can choose between 'Fixed', 'Fluid' and the mobile theme. Please let us know if there are any issues.

I've tried all the styles and just find the fonts harder to read than the old version, and the huge amount of space for advertising cuts down on the reading pane. Yeah, maybe I'm a cranky old fart, but some changes are good. I find these harder for me to read easily. Maybe with time...or better eyes...:biggrin2:

I am trying the site on a older computer, different functions and more suited to the average user. It is my test computer as I have set it up for simply this purpose.

With the readability on this computer, I can say 100% you guys need to change the font. The font for the buttons, h tags as in the titles, etc. It is way to hard on the eyes. Normally I would say if you insist on the font, adding a bit of letter-spacing would help, a different font weight, etc. the harshness of the font, but getting into the CSS like that on this forum can be a pain. It is almost best to just try another font.

Here is a link that help, which it seems all links no longer have a text decoration of underline. Might make it hard for people to know it is a link. I know, I know, should be standard info - welcome to my world LOL

BTW - it is not the actually posts fonts, but on the main page, the titles - wow. Very hard font, and it carries through to the site profiles of everyone's buttons and the buttons of reply, reply with quote and any of the other buttons when in a quick edit window.

Also, the reason for editing etc, as a black background that changes in hover mode. I would just keep it a simple background personally, but if i remember the software correctly, a lot of these are linked so if you make a change to one piece it changes other areas of the site as well in way you may not want. Just added suggestions...

Sorry I keep adding here. Fluid is not so fluid as it still has a fixed with. LOL. Fluid means that I can change this screen size and all designs including mobile will happen when the screen size changes to a certain size. Fluid in this case simply means use it for a tablet if you want a better viewing experience. Example of fluid design is . Change the screen size and the design change. If you are meaning it to be the way a true fluid design is suppose to me, look at your container width and it put in percentages and that should change it quick fast so long as you do not have other areas that are fixed. I think making images fluid is the real problem. Set your images to max-width percentages and allow wrapping for the gallery images. That would at least be the first thing I would look at. Also seems that the side profile section in the posting area is not fluid. Fluid design while they are the wave of the future are such a pain in the ass. Personally I would just rename it Desktop, tablet and Mobile and say fuck trying to make it completely fluid. But that is just me! LOL but if you want to test design on all screen types to see,
https://quirktools.com/screenfly/ Try that tool.

Sorry one more thing. There use to be an icon that let you know posts that you have personally posted in and that does not seem to be available anymore. I use to really like that function.

The text color in the dark gray text entry boxes needs to be a higher contrast color. At least for my old eyes.

In the login boxes.
The search box.
The status box in the IM settings.
