I was reading it on CBC. It just got me angry.....Before I even read the story my thoughts were
If you do not like the Laws here to become a Citizen then leave.......

I do believe the people who have the right to change their Laws are the people who have being Born or immigrated for many years.....and have the right to vote....

Next we will be cutting off hands from people who stole...because another Country has that law...

Citizens by birthright don't have to pledge allegiance for admission, period. It's not as though they are able/required to take a different oath.

Canada is a commonwealth country and as such those that immigrate to this country must pledge allegiance to the Queen. Yes its outdated but its a civil ceremony steeped in tradition. If you immigrate to this country and you dont like the laws, then guess what, you can turn around and go right back home.

I pledged allegiance to the queen when I was in public school and had no issues doing so.

That's why we have a PM not a President, means everyone in this country recognizes her as the leader. Although figuratively really. If country changes its mine and wants out of the commonwealth then sure we can take that out of the oath. Till then, everyone who comes in has to do it.
