Vaughan...... king of the shakedowns to the tune of 51 million dollars....... He ain't no saint, neither is Chow. Miller nearly bankrupted the city, nearly closed the connection between the DVP and Gardiner ( a critical route out of the city for business). Putting speed bumps everywhere that affected the flow of emergency vehicles. Ordering new fire trucks and didn't check the height clearances for the stations and then blew tens of millions of dollars digging down so the new trucks could fit inside the stations. Don't get me started on the police..... he allowed them to inflate their budget and instead of getting lean and mean, blew more money on brand new equipment that could've been implemented slower.
Then we get into the "taxes" that were imposed on home sales and vehicle licenses. This goes above and beyond what cities should be permitted to do. So explain to me Mad Man, how can you possible support people that gouge us. What Vaughan is doing is driving up the cost to build which in turn is passed onto the consumer with higher costs. He isn't the only Councillor who's guilty of it. Look at the provincial liberals and the overspending. When they should be tightening their belts they are pouring money into the areas that should only be touched when the money is coming in. Now we're wasting Billions and Billions of dollars on interest that could be better spent elsewhere. Now I'm not saying the conservatives are not guilty of doing it to, all political parties are guilty of it, some are worse than others. But what I'm seeing is abuse by a few individuals of their position.
