What does anyone expect a country to do when a group blatantly tries to cross its border illegally? Should they just allow it? Why? Give me one good reason why a country should leave its borders open to just anyone to walk in.
Yes...we knew they were coming and we (and everyone knew what they wanted to do). We already had examples of their behavior as they trampled the southern Mexican border and abused Mexican officials on the way through the country. Did they line up to present themselves in an organized manner? Did they stop to accept the charity and offers of help from Mexico along the way. Why do they require asylum in our country when Mexico offered them the same. Are you aware that there are several places in Mexico where one can go to claim asylum from the US...consulates and such. There was no need for them to come as a disorganized mob to the border.
You do realize that there was nothing illegal about it? People are allowed to come and ask for asylum in any country, and then it's upto the country to decide to give it or not. It's not like as if they were trying to sneak into the country by any means, everybody knew they were coming. However, it's decidedly illegal to try to stop them even before they get to the border of the country.
So you would be happy if illegal immigrants were bussed to some remote location on the US Canada border, and then illegally walked across the boarder into Canada.
And when these illegal immigrants were either found by Canadian authorities, or simply showed up at a government facilities, they should be accepted with open arms.
Welcome to Canada,...you are now a Canadian, and we will put up in living standards and free health care that is far higher than a lot of Canadians, including picking you up at the door of your hotel, and bussing your children back and forth to the right to the door of your hotel .
Not discounting the fact that they are line jumping those who are doing so legally.
I don't know where you've been, but that's actually already happened, asylum seekers were walking into Canada from the US last year, and they were being welcomed in. They were coming in by walking across snowy fields from the northern states. Beyond that, there has already been a spike in formal asylum seekers from American citizens after Trump came in! This is more than just the usual, "if so-and-so becomes president, I'm leaving for Canada", these people are actually fleeing the US looking for refugee status, because they feel it's not a safe place.

More Americans are trying to become refugees in Canada
Obviously I am aware of that, and how Mr. Dress Up takes credit for this in one of his far too many photo ops, but doesn't mention how individual provinces are made to shoulder the responsibilities and costs.
A question, do you agree or disagree with what is/has been happening as per your post, and why do you agree or disagree ?
Understand, people can NOT be considered refugees from the US.
I don't know how they divide up the costs between provinces and the feds. I would assume the immigration aspect is entirely the purview of the feds, except in Quebec where they have their own immigration system. The provinces probably have to shoulder the costs of giving them health cards and identity papers, but I think housing is paid by the feds, though individual municipalities need to make housing available for them. Larger cities will likely have them available, but smaller towns probably not, so they probably have to be bused to bigger cities.
As for being accepted as a refugee from America into Canada, there used to be quite a few of them accepted back in the 60's, when people were escaping The Draft to go to Vietnam. I think that's still a valid excuse to get in these days, but of course the Draft is history. US soldiers who are already enlisted, but refusing to deploy may also still apply. The story shows that less than 1% are accepted, because it would look bad for Canada that they are accepting refugees from an allied country, the USA. But despite the 1% acceptance rate, that doesn't take away from the fact that there are even any significant number of people asking for refugee status coming from the US.
Dave in Phoenix;n1467193 said:The usual false fox indoctrination spin. The "crisis" is due to Trump's policy and not enough judges and resources for the masses of refugees trying to claim asylum. The term illegals is false they are legally coming to claim asylum from fear of death etc by the gangs in home countries which have been very well documented. For those that follow the legitimate news, not the fake fox/ Trump fantasy and lies channel.
